had a great time in Whistler/Vancouver this year, mates talking about going back this season, not sure if I can manage the £2k all-in this time though

yeah burton is p whack. arbor 4 lyfe. fly airtransat for 400quid return to vancouver/calgary then go to a smaller resort like revelstoke, whitewater, kicking horse etc and have much better snow, less people and a much cheaper time :)

yeah it depends if you want quiet resorts and fantastic powder or busy party life with crap snow, big mountains and long lift lines but sunny days. whatever you're into really

True its a very busy resort, but no more than the big French resorts that I'm used too. The nightlife is pretty awesome too, lively apres ski and lots of big international dance acts in the club there (Saw Chase&Status/Pete Tong/Twalib Kwali in the week/half I was there). Depends who your going with I guess but if its with a lads holiday then it fits the bill.

Also those resorts look like a crazy distance from Vancouver like 4/5 hrs drive?

I'm always amazed that anyone has the energy for clubbing after a full day on the slopes, then get zero sleep and hit the slopes the next day. Must be getting old. =(

For snowboarding fresh powder's much better so you're way more likely to get that at a less busy resort like the ones Tom's talking about. Unless you go off-piste you're always dodging other people in France in my experience.

Alcohol + Adrenalin does the trick.

I'm getting too old for it too, but damn if your on holiday, why not have some fun catchup on sleep when you get home. A few rest days/early nights sorts you out anyways.

yeah if you hit the right week you can have 30+cm every 24 hrs. Some resorts are a bitch to get to, and you might have to hire your own vehicle or get the greyhound. if you're hardcore its worth it but you might want to go for 10 days round trip so that you have 7 days at the mountain. like i said it really depends what you're into but theres always a good nightlife at every town.. especially nelson ;)

another good idea is a roadtrip hitting different resorts over 2 weeks or something, but thats expensive of course.

whenever we go dlivering up around aberdeen we try and go the route that goes through braemar. but its the west coast thats the nicest, we went to portuairk which is the most westerly point of the british mainland (well the lighthouse near it is anyway) really nice place, nice sandy beaches and clear blue sea! also been to orkney isles which is a beutiful place too.

definatly going to go to applecross sometime, looks amazing.

Great photos! What camera do you have? I remember seeing somewhere that you had a 350D, can't remember though. Shutter speed looks decent on the snowboarding ones (is the lens stock?)

i have an olympus e-500, its about 4 years old now. the lenses are stock, 17,5mm - 45mm 40mm-150 or something. its an ok camera but a bit heavy for the mountains
