I like the shape, the weight and the buttons. The only thing I am a bit meh about is the sensor and the lift off.

How difficult was it to replace the sensor?

was abit of work. mousehweel apart from mouse3 doesnt work because the wmo chip cant deal with the razer wheel shit. but imo it was totally worth it, because yeah i love the shape and the 70g weight, and with the wmo sensor its kinda the perfect mouse for me!
grip coating is nice aswell as the glossy sides kinda blow =)

I suspected that the wheel wouldn't work, why didn't you keep the WMO Wheel (PCB) and just change the switches?

I guess it's just the angle but the PCB looks a little bit crooked.

PS: Whats the original LOD of the WMO?

WMO original liftoff is about 1,2mm or sth.
The problem with the PCB is, that if i use the WMO front and change the switches, it would be a shitton of work to get the buttons to work properly, while if i just keep the razer front i can connect the switches with the wmo pcb and im fine. so i basically just cut the razer one in half to use the front and did the same to the WMO xD
its not the nicest mod, but its doing the job. i dont use the mousewheel ingame and for surfing etc i just got a 2nd mouse attached to my pc. only using this mouse for gaming atm

Do you use the wheel button ingame? In that case I would consider "blocking" the wheel, wheel button without a moving wheel could be nice. :D

nah dont rly use it, i do have medkit on it but yeah thats only in ctf and even there it wouldnt matter when the wheel moved :p

I'm curious about how the plasti-dip spray turned out, is it a nice even coat like the regular soft-rubber on Razer mice, or did it not come out quite so well... I think I've seen one other mouse (wmo I think) that used it, but it looked like the coating came out really thick and rough, kind of like the look and texture of leather with all the cracks...

when its wet it looks thick and rough, but once its dry its flat and smooth. its not 100% like the razer one, but it provides rly good grip. i actually prefer it to the razer one

but abyssus sensor is ok there is no point in changing it

The Abyssus sensor has problems with certain mousepads, Cypher's works well because he's using probably one of the best mousepads for that mouse, the Razer Goliathus Speed.

As for the Deathadder 3.5g perhaps you updated the firmware which is suppose to resolve the issue, the problem is that Razer did not allow the Abyssus to be flashed and therefore you cannot use the firmware update...

People can talk all they want until they've owned both mice like I do. I can confirm the Abyssus jitters like theres a gnat flying around in the sensor 24/7- it's garbage I'm telling you. And yes the DA 3.5 tracks perfectly fine, despite being the same sensor. I would presume anyone who has issues on the DA3.5 is either from the first production run or hasn't updated their firmware. And also note that the Abyssus firmware is NOT upgradeable so there is no way of fixing it, except perhaps what calipt did here.

what dpi u using your 3.5G on ? I heard something that sensor in 3.5G can't track good on 450 dpi as the old one could (3G). Ever tried playing on 450 dpi ?

i tested all the resolutions and it works absolutely flawless on every possible setings

im at 450dpi/500hz since very long time now no problems at all

i hate the mouse cos its too big, too heavy, buttons suck, wheel suck, overall quality suck, the shape is fucked up and i need to stick a tape on the side to be able to use it + it doesnt rememebr my sets so each time i pull the plug and put it back in i need to go to driver sets and choose the right res and polling

As far as I know you can get 500hz with every mouse. I never had any problem... There are other ways than doing it via the mouse software. But correct me if I'm wrong. 500hz is a must have!

yes u can theoreticly do it with hidusb or whatever but somehow razer mice dont want to cooperate with anything besides razer drivers as it comes to polling rate change

I couldn't care less when playing Quake if the mouse I am playing with has prediction or not (though I hit rails easier without prediction), but when playing ET/RTCW I need prediction to be able to shoot headshots.

Really! I barely shoot headshots with no prediction, but that might be caused by my high sensitivity. It's just very hard to control my crosshair vertically. Perhaps people with a lower sensitivity don't have that problem?

heh I've already explained what I meant and still you're mean. I have tried playing without prediction with several mice and it never worked out well, I'm one of those that go only for headshots and for that I mostly only need to track the enemy in the x-axis and I want only minimal change of the y-axis and that I am not able to do with no prediction -> I need prediction for that and I won't try explaining why that is so (perhaps of my high sensitivity), because as stated: it is as it is and I have some Razer mice where it is possible to flash their firmware, so I had a comparison with the same mice.

in the same amount of time:

Razer Copperhead firmware 6.32 no prediction: 10 headshots
Razer Copperhead firmware 6.17i prediction: 25 headshots

that's how it is.

i can say the same about 2 DA firmwares and getting more hs w/o correction

I can't measure it exactly, but it's just about the same as switching from an optical mouse (prediction) to a ball mouse (no prediction). The feeling is really obvious.

Here we are again, the CH has an awful sensor (not saying anything about the shape as that is pointless, personal preference) just as the WMO/IMO/IME3 without overclocking it to something above 125 Hz, but I can use even the IMO comfortable even without overclocking due to my sensitivity. I never reached the end of its perfect control speed. Just saying all this because I assumed that you said that the CH is shit because of its sensor.

I hated the shape of the CH, while it's only a bit bigger than the DB which i had no problems to play with :/ Well the sensor didn't help me either.
I'm not interested in any prediction tests with th ch since it's an old crappy mouse that nobody cares about (except you :) :):)

I'm the opposite, I love the shape of the CH, and in fact hail it as the best shape and side grip, though I can understand one shape does not fit all hand sizes. Once I learned to hold it for fingertip aim it really was deadly. I've owned 4 Copperheads and my first one tracked perfectly, so despite them generally being mass produced with a flawed sensor (and it dies eventually @ 1khz polling), it really is a great mouse in my opinion. With an updated sensor it would be my choice over everything as I played my best when I had a working version of it.

make a photo of how you hold it, never found a comfortable way to claw it tbh and fingertip isn't that far away from my claw grip (I refer to it as claw grip, but in fact it's a mix of like 70% claw grip and 30% fingertip grip)

ET = 1 D aiming, most of the time. Having your aim reduced to a line helps a lot in that case :)
Just watch a demo of snoop, low m_pitch + mx518 correction, always aiming at the same height and spraying kills :)

Actually unlike vib i tend to shot more heads with the wmo , but I lose a lot in overall accuracy due to lack of correction (more pointing precision, less stability). But it's shape thing aswell, so when i get internets i'll sure check with the 3.0.

I have the WMO (in black and white ;D), IMO and IME3 :D the WMO is just awful for aiming in ET in my case.

And besides, the way we are used to play matters a lot when we compare the thing we are talking about: I for example use claw grip, though you probably use palm grip etc. also if you have a lower sensitivity than mine, then I can well imagine that it is easier for you to control your aim even with no prediction, but basically the thing you said about snoop is right :).

With no prediction I have slightly better accuracy (because the body hitbox is bigger than the head one, and as my crosshair goes up and down from headshot height to body height and vice-versa it is less likely that I start missing bodyshots than headshots), but a lot less headshots and my aim is totally dependent on if I shoot those crucial headies or not. I think that this is most obvious in delivery (yeah shit map) as you basically need to aim at one height on the main part (office, controls..) of the map.
