BiBS Season 2 - European groups (49 comments)

Update: The final euro groups are now ready and the first matches will start next Monday.

As previously stated in the Sneakpeek to Season 2 news, the sign-ups for the second season of the Bring it Back Safely QuakeLive CTF 4v4 are still running. Today, up to 32 European clans already signed up while the closing date is due in a few days: Sunday 30th of August.

The group draft will then be publish on the 1st of September and the final groups will be released on thursday 3rd. After that, everything should be ready for the first matches which should start on Monday 7th. Concerning the American tournament, more details should be announced soon.

if any ctf clan or even tdm, ca is looking for a player, feel free to contact me. I would like to have some opportunity to play in some clan games etc. My current clan is not so active when it comes to playing in some leagues or cups. Lately im just playing on pubs, and in some small ql duel tourneys.

I have irc, headset, ventrilo, teamspeak, some experience from q3 osp tdm, q3 ctfs. I miss some competetive games.

If you don't get an invitation from any clan..join a relatively newbish one and if you are good,i bet you will get invitations from other better clans..

you have to climb the corporate ladder so to speak :D

doesn't q3 ctf already have a ton of good maps,..they just need to add some to QL,no need to make new ones..

But i agree,the current map selection in QL is just awful

I am disappointed in every league starting (signups closing) in quite early september, which means lots of teams who are inactive during summer might not be ready to joinup and therefor will be shut out of almost every tournament there is at the moment :(

what i really liked about this league was that it was different by being 5vs5, i hope they run another one like that as although some of the old q3 maps like ctf2 we're sometimes pretty gay, on the new maps ironworks (7) and siberia (8) - it was fun :D

nice league, but please re-evaluate the rules!!

especially the map picking procedure is weird:

2) Match procedure

A match is played 5on5 and using the Best of 3 format. Maps are decided as follows:

- Team Captains pummel (fight with gauntlet) in the middle of the map. No power-ups or health bubbles allowed
- Loser eliminates a map
- Winner eliminates a map. 3 maps remain
- Winner picks first map
- Loser picks second map
- The remaining map will be used as the third map, if required.

I left the BiBS admin team a couple weeks ago, but the last thing I worked on was Rules. You should be expecting changes based on your feedback from Season I.
