I'm convinced that ID's works have lots of potential, but it's when they outsource work that things tend to fail.

RTCW and ET are the only online fps i played besides the quake games. Preodered Wolfenstein some weeks ago... still hope the mp doesnt completely suck ://

the problem with this game isn't that it's not comp ready. that can be fixed. the problem really is that's

1. absolutely nothing new (except for upgrades and veil)
2. basically the same gameplay like et & rtcw (obj + classes) but on every aspect regarding that (both technical and gameplay) inferior to it's predecessors.

so in conclusion i don't see the point of playing this game.

+ id lost the last credibility they had with all this preposterous shit they did regarding this game. the mp part went from one development team to another like a software hooker...

if the beta wasn't leaked all those people who preordered wouldn't have had any clue about the low quality of this game until release day. now we know why there was no info on mp all the time. those assholes KNEW they're going to publish shit. i hope all those people cancelling their preorders due to the beta cost them a shitload of money.

yes. the player base will be insignificant. i adore rtcw and i couldn't bring myself to buy the game after seeing how bad the beta was. and if i'm not, as a diehard, willing to buy it and play it what possible hope is there to build a mp community around the game?

it's obviously not going to be a massive hit on it's own. it's neither good enough or original enough. so there will be no influx of new players, and the old players think it's shit. the whole thing is an abortion and a waste of energy for all involved.

the best thing to do if you love wolf is to beg id for a RTCW live release based on the QL framework.

rtcw-live would be great indeed. but i don't see that happen since like id stated, ww2 and ads doesn't really combine well. maybe they can just change the theme as much as needed to get it kind of 'neutral'. but don't ask me how ;P overall rtcw being on the same great engine as q3 it would be a reasonable step. some new maps and some new features and i'd be totally in for this, and i know a lot of people would as well

Just put ad's in map loading screen. And force it for like 10sec even for fast computers, vuala.

I am pretty convinced the bad multiplayer is a result of them using the ET:QW engine which is AWFUL

I just picked my copy of the game and I am having a blast with the single player campaign. Really love this game. I do, however, see why the game gets slammed in virtually every review except the one at The Escapist and that's written by a woman. I would let her suck my cock for that even if she is fat.

Now, about the reviews. FUCK THEM. They slam Wolfenstein only to praise the piece of shit COD: MW2 will be... But oh well, thats the reality today's game market.

Prior to the release of Wolfenstein, Raven Software designer Manveer Heir promised a full refund to anyone who bought the game if it outsold this year's Madden.

According to a report from GameSpot, the Activision game sold just 106,000 copies across the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Madden sold 1.9 million.
