I can't always save my settings properly too sometimes, I also notice that Quake Live saves online (cloud?) your settings, I reinstalled it on my second laptop to watch a demo once, and when I was back on my first laptop all my settings were the ones from my second laptop "=D" it took me a while to get it back to normal again, it's really annoying.

Anyway do you have Windows 7 or 8.1?
Polling rate is 500hz or 1000hz?

I read here that people have problems with Windows 8/8.1... I have Win 8.1 but everything works flawlessly though.

Are you using "read only" mode on your cfg, maybe try this, just to check if it's coming from the cfg or a software/hardware part.

I have Windows 8.1 and 500Hz mouse polling rate. Also use SteelSeries mousedrivers for my Kinzu.

"Read Only" on my cfg is on, because I alredy had these problems with losing sens before reinstalling OS as well.

make sure that you reset all your stuff with cvar_restart and not with the reset option from the menu. Anything that is still different after executing your cfg was not part of your cfg in the first place.
Make sure that in_mouse is part of your config and that things like m_yaw or m_cpi are on default or on the value you want.

You should also take the possibility into account that it's your mouse that's broken. If you have a spare one, plug that in and compare.

i get where you're coming from. I'm in the middle of "testing" if it's somehow related to gfx drivers. With a new ati card and driver 13.4(latest for my card), i get very slow, almost accelerated mouse feel, where i can move 20cm and only turn 90deg(normal speed i get what my sens is, and not more). Answer would be accel, but it's not, it's completely removed from windows. And with old nvidia card and driver 175.16, i get perfect 14cm/360 with no slow movement fuss.

I might be wrong, but that's my findings as of late, i think it has something to do with framesmoothing used on both nvidia and amd cards/drivers now adays, i need confirmation though.

My other theory is that a QCK mousepad and my mouse mx500 is heat and moist dependent on how it tracks, which is unsolvable without getting new mouse and pad.

Am I going insane, or do other ppl have slow movement resulting in some weird decelerated manner? It's really driving me nuts, and i cant figure out why it's sometimes so slow with slow movement, and sometimes as it's supposed to be?

Man, I hope you're right and that's the reason! After reinstalling Windows I updated nVidia drivers as well. I'll try to test with that.

i don't think i am though. Depends of what you mean by "off". Is it still same cm/360? mine is, but it's some other problem :/ and i cant find out why.

Sens is placebo, latrommi proved it.

did you install the accel fix? maybe you installed a different one with a different accel curve? usb port not running on 500/1000hz?
