Joe Miller from ESL TV, along with his buddy

2GD, will be bringing the action live to you on stream starting at 14:00 CDT.

As you might already know, the Season X was already announced and won't feature Quakelive.

Update: Due to personal reasons, strenx postponed the match to Feb 8th, 20 cet

The end of EMS IX is near. The last ESL Major Series Quake matches take place this week! As no dates have been determined yet, no stream info can be given. From the moment the dates are fixed, info will be shared! Depending on the schedule, JoeMiller will step it up to cast!

The Grand Final is a battle between France and Germany! Will it be

k1llsen who take the head prize of �500?

The Group Stage of the

ESL Major Series Season IX is now finished and the Brackets for the final part of the competition are now known and published. As the top3 players from each group advanced to the playoffs, the 2nd and 3rd will play each others in the Eighth finals while the 1st directly advanced to the Quarter finals. All the matches will be played as best-of-5 and the system will be single Elimination. The first round is planned for Thursday 15th around 14:00 CDT!

During the Group Stage, a lot of players were removed due to noshows or inactivity (including some top seeds:

Cooller,

av3k and

Cypher). In Group A, the classic duel match between

strenx and

k1llsen went in favor of the German player for the 1st rank and

Reaper took the 3rd place over

tox1c in a five-mapper.

GaRpY had no problem topping Group B and is followed by

lotn1k and

smoke. Sadly,

fazz decided to give up on duel and left the tournament.

For the Group C rankings, things weren't so easy.

spart1e,

kRoNic and

guismo were perfectly tied for the 1st rank at the end of the Group Stage. The 3 players had to go through bo3 tie-breakers (results can be seen on their respective group matches pages), and spart1e came out first after being able to take a map from guismo in the only 3-mapper! Finally, in Group D

Sc00t managed to defeat

agent after a deciding map to take the lead, despite his loss against

reload who's finishing at the third place.

Most of the demos and detailed results from the Group Stage are available. If some are missing, it simply means the players didn't communicate them.

Update: Some games are live and streamed on

c58. Also zoot and owzo should stream some, starting with strenx vs reload.

Today is the default day for the 2nd match in the Group Stage of the

ESL Major Series Season IX. One player already had to be removed after 2 noshows:

Cooller, and

spart1e is now replacing him in Group C!

Yesterday evening,

sz just canceled his participation in the coming group stage of the

ESL Major Series Season IX leaving us with a new slot to fill! So it was just decided to run a Last chance cup for the losers of the QR2 (excepted those who got a noshow) on Sunday 23rd at 13:00 CDT!

On a side note, the seedings for the drawing of the groups are almost ready, and we still have to decide who will get sz's seed.

The second Qualification Round for the

ESL Major Series Season IX is played this week after some unfortunate delays! This is the final step before the players are added to the Group Stage of the competition. Only 12 players will go through it! The default date and time for all the matches is set to Thursday 13th at 13:00 CDT!

ESL Major Series Season IX is starting this week! 24 players will battle to reach QR2. Only half of them will go through and meet with the 12 players already waiting in QR2. The default time and date for all matches is 13:00 CDT, 29 September 2011.

The details for the national qualifiers of the

ESL Major Series Season IX are slowly getting announced. Below you can find a list with links to the news for each country/region. Not all of them are available at the moment and the list will be updated as soon as new qualifiers are announced.

The French and Swedish qualifiers will be run on the European Quakelive section. These will use the same format and date as the European Qualifier: Double Brackets (WB bo3 / LB bo1) on Wednesday 7th of September at 13:00 CDT.

Do you want to take part in it and compete with players like cypher, cooller, strenx and av3k, then do not hesitate to sign up. This is your one and only chance to qualify!

The International, French and Swedish qualifiers for the

ESL Major Series Season IX will be played on Wednesday 7th of September at 13:00 CDT. See the Scheduled Listings to check when the other national qualifiers are played.

2 Swedish players, 1 French and 1 European will directly qualify. 2 Swedish players, 2 French and 1 European will get into QR2. And 2 players of each will be put into QR1.

Yesterday, the

ESL Major Series Season IX was announced with 8 titles.

Quake Live will be part of this new season, and since IEM dropped Quakelive duel, it now becomes the new mode for EMS. The cash prize will consist of 1 000� for the top3 players.

EMS9 Schedule

The qualifiers should be run on the following model: players will have to go through national cups to be placed in the Qualifiers Rounds, an international cup will be run for countries without national cups. Each country will get a number of players directly qualified and/or placed in the 2 Qualifier Rounds. We will reach a total of 20 players at the end of the process. Also, 4 players will get a direct invitation.
