ESR: Tell us about your gaming background.

Jabb0r: I think this one needs a table:

AgeGame
9-10Q2
10-13Q3
13-14Q3+CS
14-16CS
16-17PK
17WoW
17Q4

It looks something like that anyway, give or take a few years here and there.

ESR: What hardware do you use?

Jabb0r: Shuttle XPC SN95G5, Athlon 64 3500+, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon x800pro, 19" monitor, Logitech G5 mouse + media keyboard, Steelpad QCK+ mousemat. Why? Ummmmmm, a shuttle because it makes LANs about 10x easier, 19" monitor because it's pretty much the standard for events, and all the other stuff just because it works in the shuttle I have I guess. As for the peripherals - I used a logitech dual optical mouse for like 3-4 years, so switching to the mx510 series was an obvious decision as the shape is so similar, the media keyboard is slick and sexeh, and the QCK+ because I like the feel and control I get from clothpads much more than hardpads.

ESR: How do you think you'll do in the VIA ESi tournament?

Jabb0r: Well with exams starting 3-4 days after the tournament it hasn't been the best time to play in a tournament for me and i've barely been playing at all since christmas because of it, so i think in the state i'm in i'd be pretty happy with a top5 finish. Anything less and I will feel i've underperformed anyway. Saying that, seeing as how much other people have been practicing and bootcamping etc, I couldn't really complain :)

ESR: Who are you most wary about in the VIA ESi tournament?

Jabb0r: Hmmmmm, it'd have to be Jamerio. If anyone can come and take the tournament by surprise it has to be Jamerio!

ESR: Quake 4 has been out for a few months now, what do you think of the game and do you think it has a future in Esports?

Jabb0r: When Q4 first came out it was in a real state, but over the past few months it has improved considerably, and I can only see it getting better from a duel perspective. However, no game can survive with 1v1 as the only played game type - PK kinda proved that - so imo TDM/CTF is going to have to pick up pace over the next 6-12 months if we want to see Q4 live for longer than a year or two. I seriously hope it does :)) As for the game itself, the problems it has at the moment are things that can and will be fixed. There's the bigger problems like the severe lack of playable maps which we are seeing at the moment, the highly debated abnormally shaped hitboxes, the over powered shotgun. Then there's the little things like zoom sens, mouse accel, counting-up timer. I think in 6 months time all these problems will be ironed out and the game will be a lot better, and if everything goes the way it could we'll see Q4 carry on as a competetive game for years to come.

ESR: How would you describe your Quake 4 playing style?
Jabb0r:

ESR: Who do you think will dominate Quake 4 in 2006, and why?
Jabb0r: It's gotta be one of the Q3ers really. I can't see anyone taking it from them. The most obvious choice would be Cooller looking at his recent performance at CPL Winter, and all his previous experience in Q3.
