Ever thought it might be a faulty USB port?

thought that, it does this with other ports and it also happened to me while I played in the "FEAR mobile centrino laptop" tourney when I brought my mouse over, however aphextwin didn't seem to have a problem.

Yeh wierd that.. I do get that problem at home some times.. only after a major computer error though(Yeh i get blue screens some times, on XP!)

Maybe i have a slightly newer Razor, i honestly dont know.. I'm currently contemplating going back to my m$ 1.1 mouse though, ahh old school bliss..

I've had nothing but problems with Razer mice. I love the shape and the speed of the buttons, but I had the Diamondback Q4 freezing problem, and now that I've switched to the Copperhead, it skips (weird kind of skipping, happens once every 5 mins or so, as if the game itself pauses for a split second).

did you tweak you usb ports to 250hz> ?

Hmm, just typing that couldn't give the emotion/hate and mean look I'd do in real life :( Mine didn't detect at startup and lagged and skipped and could never really be fixed with drivers or firmware, so changed to Diamondback again. Does skip a bit when moved really fast (only in Q4 :/) but is a billion times better and I'm so used to the shape.

Would really want an ms1.1a again though :) Am kinda anti-order though so need to find a store... Only them MX mice everywhere :(

Get an MX518 or something older, the Logitech G5 is a walking, talking, living problem. Bring back the old Intelli optical. =/

Razer mice are a pain... They charge you with astronomic prices for a product that feels like an open beta. I´m thinking about the drivers which had acceleration which couldnt be switches off, the buttons that squeaked constantly and the feet that forced me to buy a new mousepad and are absolutely of no benefit...

On a sidenote USB has always been problematic for me, guess it has something to do with chipsetdrivers that may conflict with something else or doubled IRQs or something... Wouldnt blame that on razer at least.

i'd like to give the creative fat-mouse a try which looks really good imo. i hope a store near me will get it.

Heh, that sucks. I think you should get one of these. It's what I use and I don't have any issues whatsoever.

If its usb, tried changing usb ports? Sometimes its the usb port and not the mouse.

my copperhead works like a charm. no lag, no nothing :) best.

The latest beta firmware (www.razerblueprints.net) will fix not-detecting on boot issues on most motherboards. Not sure what causes the driver not seeing the mouse, but thats annoyed me a few times too.

I used one o those for 2 weeks or something and sometimes it just stopped working for a whole second midgame.. sometimes would detect on boot and was not very comfortable =/

Get a M$ mouse, M$ IntelliMouse Explorer 3 or M$ WheelMouse Optical 1.1a. Cheap. No drivers needed. Plug in, and enjoy.

Ironically, M$ makes good mice, when it should be making good operating systems. Furthermore, pushing the irony to extremes, being a monopoly like they are, they stopped the production of MSIE3's, beloved gamer mice.

Had some for the first time on New Years with a friend I made at this New Years party in a club I go to. We took our shot glasses, locked our arms (so that if one empties the shot glass, the other must as well or will block the first guy's arm movement so both drinks spill), and chugged. Well, I managed most of it, was already wasted so spilled some on my chin :/, throat burned like a bitch :D. I want to redeem myself and try that again without spilling any absinth.
Alanis Morisette is indeed a good singer, but its the kind of music I listen to in a quiet environment. Otherwise I listen a lot to melodic death metal (ie In Flames) and recently started listening to power metal (DragonForce, extremely uplifting music :)).

Ah, it seems you like metal with complex composition. Music along the lines of Tool is called Progressive Metal. Nine Inch Nails is quite unclassifiable, but takes most of its elements from industrial rock. Incubus is somewhat more easily classifiable - it is alternative rock. If you're interested in various genres of metal and different bands associated with them check this out. On the other hand, if you prefer rock, check this out.

Got a Copperhead over Xmas, had no problems with it whatsoever. My phone doesn't like running at 1000 hz mind :P

I've got the razer proSolution and I've had no problem with it so far (unless you count getting the sensitivity right as a problem, which is a problem everytime I switch mouse).

diamondback's are girls best friend!

My razer diamondback has the same problem which is why I don't use it anymore. It just freezes up and the sensor dies randomly, then I have to plugit back in and the sensitivity is different. I get the same thing on every pc I use it on. Razer mice are far from durable / reliable.

Razer sucked ever since they quit manufacturing the ball Boomslangs. Never tried any of m$ mice but i do not expect too much from them as I am a Windows user. Had my Logitech Dual Optical for 6 years now and never traded it for anything else just because I am satisfied with it and it still runs perfect.

I have a razer diamondback plasma that doesn't get detected on boot up sometimes, It happens often enough to be quite annoying.

I bought my brother a copperhead for Christmas & it also has the boot up probelm, but not quite as bad as my plasma.

I have also heard some Logitechs' MX users having this problem.
Might be a flaw with current gen optical/laser?

I have two MS 1.1a mice just in case this plasma gets tossed out the window one day. ;-)
