Of course, every one in the world by now has heard that beckham has signed with Real Madrid at a purchase price of $105 Million. They now have the most popular players in the world, including Zidan and Figo. Since Beckham's signing he has sold over 200 million Real jerseys and the numbers are climbing. Because of his popularity, the media seems to focus on him 90% of the time. Is this becoming Beckham's team? How does the team react to having the majority of time and commentary focused on Beckham and not the team as a whole? Although an extraordinary player, I personally feel the compatability between the players in him will decrease in time, to the point where they might not even pass him the ball even though he has a run and could possibly score. Then there is the other view to it, that he does not ask for this popularity and does not want the media... all aspects must be considered, but for the sake of the team and franchise, was his signing a good one?
