Saying that higher reps tones is a true myth(what tones the muscles is dertermined by how much fat that sorrounds them)... And who is the stronger? Well i think its the guy that can lift the most...

That said, nobody really knows how to make muscles grow, and the majority believes its individual, so you cant really say what works how for who... :)

oh and i usually take 3 sets of 12 in my routine, atm... proven results actually say that 1 set gives the same amount as 3, but more sets should prevent injuries...

this is mostly true. you do understand how fat works? your muscles use it for energy. low, slower-paced excercising will not raise your metabolic rate as faster-paced excercising will.

Strengtlifters do 1-6 reps, or 1-3 as i said... They do this because they focus on getting stronger(power or whatever you call it) all(or most) bodybuilders is going for higher reps to stimulate hypertrophy, its nothing i claim its just how its done :)

The next thing... Yes, not to challenge your english what marks(or tones if you like) your muscles is 1. How much fat that surrounds them 2. the size.

Who can lift the most does not make you "stronger." Real strength comes in endurance, not straight power. It's much better to be able to rep something a bunch of times, rather than just maxing out your weight in order to try to get "big."

Endurance is the key factor for strength, without endurance you're weak, I don't care how much you say you can bench.

All the fights I've been in, endurance has always been the key factor, not raw power. Hey, but their big muscles always look real pretty when they are laid out on the ground though, lol. You can whip some serious ass and never have to put up more than 235-250 pounds. (Adjust for your weight accordingly obviously, I weigh 175)

They can keep their 300+ bench press, I'll stick with my 235-250 ... I refuse to go over that amount for myself personally, would rather just get good reps in. Also, I don't think my body has the frame necessary to lift too heavy weight. Last time I was lifting using dumbells to work my chest, when I got around the 80 pounders on an incline, my left shoulder gave out on me, so I haven't done extreme weights ever again.

Unless you're just naturally a big guy, lifting big weight isn't necessary and is over-rated in my opinion. Endurance is where it's at...

ya, it's kindof irrelevant but back when my dad lifted (heh, I think he stopped at around 25 years old) he pressed about 310, curled 150, had 19" biceps and a 52" chest. it doesn't make that much sense to me, either, but he is/was a pretty big guy at 6'4" 220-230, so I dunno. I think bodyweight is somewhat relative tho, but once you get bigger, you definitely need to go up some or it's just too easy.

I seriously think abs are mostly genetics, man. I've worked as hard as anyone and my midsection looks really good in my opinion, but I doubt I'll ever look like john basedow or whoever else. It's probably annoying to those hardgainers that try. If I don't get them before I goto the beach in July, you can rest assured I will just try harder. I dun care if that means literally ripping my stomach inside out, I have an incredibly high pain tolerance anyway. It hurts to get defined abs tho, I can attest to that. Internal pain never feels pleasant ;>
but right now I'm doing 50 10lb resisted crunches, 30xSide obliques, 50 lower ab excercises, twice. I'll go for more resistance, if that's what it takes.

I'm seeing good results tho, but alot of people don't.
I'm writing all this down here cuz I don't currently keep a record much anywhere else. far as meh midsection goes, I of course had to lose any fat on my midsection in order for my abdominals to show. I stood 6'0"(183cm), 172lb(78kg).
I lost 15lb and was down to a 35-36" waist. I was then 157lb(71kg).
Since then I'd lost another 4lb -- 153lb(69kg).
I sustained this weight for about week with muscle toning, while still losing another inch off my waist. My waist is now 34"(~86cm). I wanted to tone my triceps cuz I want that V looking thing in my upper arm, so I've switched to lighter weight, higher rep tricep excercises and I am starting to see definition. My arms won't go through my sleeves without friction in my XL size shirts, because of my triceps. They'll slide on over my biceps, tho, but my biceps are already perfect imho. :)
Nowza just gotta work on my lats & chest and I'll love myself deeply. ;>

as for me tho I kinda wanna play football, and they record those stats. but I'm never going to cuz I don't wanna goto college. ;<

To all you strong guys that can do 90+ kilo presses how many pressups can you do in 1 go? im curious to see how well balanced and how much stamina you have, be honest now.

Also try doing some dumbell presses to stimulate new growth on an incline or decline, you need a partner for this, infact you really should have for bench press too, im sure you all do :)

I'd be impressed if you could do 200 pushups, I only managed to reach 100, but in a circuits session i used to do well over 200, but not all at once of coarse, 3 sets of 10 reps on 70kg or about 4-5 reps on 90kg x 3 was my max, not done any heavy stuff for a while but still do some dumbels, and cycling/running to keep in shape.

I dunt think it's hard. All it takes is following through. Just don't stop, what's so hard about that? :)

Once when all I ate was really fat fast food, was extremely tired cuz I stayed helped my mom work her third shift at the motel all night, and I got down on the floor and did 80 in a row, hah. It was pretty easy. Since then I haven't really done many, but I did a couple more sets the following days/weeks, doing about the same number (but I did them in sets). I'm still sure I could pull out many more than that in one go.

Point taken, but then define al-natural. You can’t even buy fruit juice without preservatives like sodium benzoate in it. Look at any product on the chelves these days. They all have chemicals in them. Here in South Africa they even put stuff in chocolate to prevent it for melting on the shelves. For example, you would find written on a fruit juice box: Orange Juce 100% fruit juice blend.

This is 30% orange juice and 70% of some other abundant fruit (like grapes) put through an extraction process to take out all the flavors leaving only water and sucrose. Well then I guess it’s 100% fruit juice blend, but what about the chemical impurities that came through the extraction process? Then I don’t even want to talk about the pitless fruit, like oranges and grapes we all are eating. How natural is that? Ya we are eating this in SA, but our farmers thrive on exporting their fruit to Europe and USA.

Coming back to creatine. Yes, the product is not natural, but the substance is. It can be found in any raw meat. So if you say you want to be al-natural you must also leave multi vitamins, antibiotics or any medicine for that matter and 90% of the food you buy alone. I’m not promoting createne. Back when i was using it ppl were classing it as a steroid substitute. Which to an extent it is (in the manner it reacts) but it is a pure supliment.

Once, when i was 6, I lifted a boulder to escape from the cave. Granted I didnt bench press it but rumour has it, that its the same rock that guards alibabas cave and weighs in a 988kg. I went to the beach that summer and 666 birthmark got washed off.

When I was 17 I did 79kg 1 rep max, 20 now only have weights at home with a max of 65-70kg on the bar. Can bench that 12-13 times. However I'm more suited to endurance/power and my muscle groups are seriously weird. My calves cant lift shit but can do 100's of reps with a moderate weight. Quads - ummm can do the 70 kg 15-20 times maybe more with a spotter. Shoulders are strong(50kg x 10) as are biceps(80lbs x 8) but triceps and chest arent particularly strong but probably more developed that either shoulders or triceps. So what I do is high/low rep training to really confuse the muscles. Only type of program that worked for me to a good extent. Comments or suggestions please, I'm kinda lost on this muscle fibre shit that i seem to have going on. Was a long distance runner when younger. They say its not all genetics, that your early physical and muscle type development can depend on what types of activity you had.

I know a girl that weighs ~67 kg and her personal best was 106 kg. Eat your heart out =)

It is very true that in powerlifting the ratio between lifted weight and body weight is what matters. The whole idea of the sport is to gain strenght without really building muscle (since that would make you heavyer and you would need to compete in a different class)

As a general guideline people who gets a ratio under 1.5 are concidered beginners.

Just for fun some stats:

weight: 82kg
Bench 1 rep max 137,5kg
chins: 25
squat 10 reps with 160kg
