I remember back in 2013 or so, I bought the original QCK heavy, this one:

Notice the old logo? Then years later, I bought this one:

When I got it, I noticed it felt cheaper compared to original 1 in materials, but still got the job done.

Now, I see they've changed it again, the new one has only the logo and doesn't say "steelseries":

So what im asking is, what can I expect? is it going to be worse than all previous iterations? considering everything in "esports" gets increasingly shitty, I wouldn't be sursprised they are saving costs with even worse materials these days.

It's the same, I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I think the ZOWIE G-SR is a much better pad, and that's coming from someone who used the QcK Heavy for like 7+ years.

Agreed. I bought a ZOWIE G-SR about 1.5 years ago. After having used QcK Heavy for many years, the G-SR is a big step up. The texture plus the build quality is much better, imo. I think I owned 3 or 4 QcK Heavy pads over the years (the edges always frayed and came apart), but my G-SR shows no signs of wear/tear yet.

Besides the frayed edges, where else have you noticed an improvement in build quality?
In what way would you say the texture is an improvement?

The fabric feels higher quality and slightly smoother than the QcK Heavy, but still a nice amount of friction. The way the edges are weaved is very nice. It's more comfortable for my wrist/arm. Also, my QcK Heavy slowly discolored (from black to slightly greyish black) in the middle. Whereas I see no discoloration on the G-SR so far. Overall, it feels like a higher quality product even though I think it's the same price (or roughly?) as the QcK Heavy.

How does it match the WMO? imo QCK heavy is a perfect fit for WMO. I actually like it better when you've used for a while and friction increases a bit. Everytime I bought a QCK heavy the first days it was way too smooth.

I also like the 6mm thickness. I cant go back to a thin mousepad. G-SR is 3.5mm.

I use a Logitech G403 atm, which my fav mouse I've ever used (given my grip, posture, and aim style). I never used a WMO but I did use an MSIE 3.0 for several years. The Logitech G403 has roughly the same shape/size as an MSIE 3.0, but slightly heavier, iirc. It has a nice matte finish, too.

Just for context, I play with a claw grip, leaning back a bit, and mostly wrist-aim. Sens is around 25-27cm/360, no accel.

I'd say it's about the same, it has a new base that I thought was better across different tables. That won't matter if you only use it at home. You can tell if it's the new base if it has the SS logo tiled on the rubber:

At some point it looks like absolute dogshit. I like to play on the side that has no logo, because the logos always have this weird feel to it, and this side is not black anymore, it has some grey shit shade to it. Do you reckon this can be cleaned somehow?

I understand what you say, at first, the QCK is too smooth, as shit builds up i guess... it becomes a perfect balance of smooth with extra friction specially for lg.... but at some point you have to change them. Im not sure if mousepads can be cleaned. In the past i tried and the results were questionable.
