none of the razer mice died for me or had any malfunction after some time (not even faster 8years)

I went through 3 of the original DA 1800 dpi mice, despite treating them well... I am just glad that I bought an RMA with the mouse for a buck and don't have to deal with Razer support since its the first month fucking WIN!

Had it since January. It's been out awhile. Don't know why people say quality it better. It's the same, if not worse. RMB is way too easy to click.

I bought and sent 5 back. Mouse2 requires little to no actuation force compared to original 1800 and 3500. Black edition was the same. I really love everything else about it, it's awesome, but if resting my finger makes me jump... no thanks.

It's funny because the first review sample I had (before they fixed spinning issue via firmware) had good buttons. I'll try buying it again in a month or two I think... a few bad batches perhaps since I made sure to buy different ones.

Shame really, it's close to being my favourite mouse... I even like Synapse 2.0, even if cloud saving settings is pointless.

Razer sucks. Best mouse; shortest lifespan. Brilliant business design.

Diamondback 3G - 3 years of use
Salmosa - 2 (almost 3) years of use
Abyssus - 2 years of use

Each of them still going strong, no sign of any fault yet.

Hit or miss. I've had one fail within a month, one dead on arrival, and one where the mousewheel sunk after a week. All DeathAdders. I know plenty of people with similar experiences.

I would be lying, if I'd tell you that I don't like Razer because I like it. Well, to be exact, certain models.

I never had a DA, but I know a few people who has and they're using it for years now without any serious issue.

It might be that hit or miss thing, but pretty much every manufacturer has faulty product lines or faulty pieces in a good product line.

My experience too, I've owned, including rma about 7 da, all have broken within months.

Mamba broke within months

Abyssus broke but I returned it.

I think my Lachesis is the only working model I have but only so cuz I never used it much and had to play with a high sense on it, further limiting physical stress.

With my g400 or g500 I could murder a few people at LAN and still be able to use it.

My DA I bought in 2009 still works perfectly :/

My 1800 lastet through 5 years of nerding without any problems. It actually is still working just the wheele is broken. I guess you did something wrong :O

I've had the 1800, the 3500 and now the 2013 - none of them broke in any way. All of them work flawlessly, I have only upgraded for fun.

the abyssus has the same cancer. The things that contact the switches are made of the cheapest plastic (polystyrene). This plastic can be transparent (glowing razer logo).

If your click breaks and you're out of warranty you can try opening your mouse and squirting some wd40 or silicone spray to get the moisture out of the switch. This worked for me before when click was malfunctioning, but if its totally broken it might be different. There's a few threads about this on other forums.

Thanks for the tips, but the actual plastic bit connnecting the part your finger clicks to the actual internal switch broke clean off :/

Razer DA 3.5G from 2010 still works like a charm here...

The exact same thing happened with mine. The right button doesn't have the same response anymore, it feels muddy and overresponsive.

thats how mine felt not long before it broke. :S

My abyssus broke similarly, though in like 6-12 months. Still "as long as you learned something it's not a mistake".

Just a real damn shame because tracking was excellent and the shape and comfort were the best of any mouse ever to my hands. Those new rubber grips are sick.

Just not sure if I should ask for refund or replacement :$.

well everyone has their own experience with mice which is a very miniscule sample size. for example if you're in the market for hard drives, ppl will tell you not to buy x or y brand. but if you talk to a guy who actually works in rma he'll tell you those opinions are quite useless.

my first 'gaming mouse' was a logitech g5 and it started double-clicking after a year and a half as the switch wore out. i bought a DA 3G which is 4+ years old now, seen very heavy usage, still as good as new. have an abyssus too, light usage, also flawless.
that however does not mean i'll go around yelling logitech sucks and razer are great.

I bought a DA in 2009 and abused the fuck out of till the side buttons eventually caved in in 2012

I got the original DA 1800 before it was even released for review purposes - It still works. And I used it every day for years. It's only retired now because of my Abyssus which I've been using for 2 years. I reckon some people just press the buttons harder than others? Maybe rougher with movement than others? who knows.

It's a Razer. Expect of the old copperhead I never seen a razer product wich last longer than a few month. Crap from gamers for gamers.
