Grumble.

I've been using a WMO for, like, 10 years and recently decided I'd like a new mouse with side buttons. Diablo 3 right around the corner and they help with browsing. Popped online to do some research and found this forum and had a chuckle at my good ol' reliable $10 mouse being one of the most oft recommended.

Turns out, the WMO is basically the only mouse that I can use for extended periods of time without cramping up. In the past two weeks I've ordered and returned:

Zowie AM
Razer Death Adder
SteelSeries Kana
MS IME 3.0 Legend Edition

Currently using a G9x, which I like, but again isn't doing great things for my hand/wrist. The AM is too thin, the DA is too large and fitted, the Kana was just bad and the IME felt (don't kill me) flimsy and cheap all around.

Any suggestions, folks?

edit: lol just read the final part. Have you tried mx500 shaped logitech mice? Seems like the very latest g400 is quite good (no prediction).

The AM too thin? I find it pretty much the same width, the sides are sloped and not flat like the wmo. That's understandable to not like. But I think if you got used to it you'd like it :)

I don't think the width would be a problem had the AM been just a little taller. I have huge hands and use some sort of pseudo palm/claw grip that I think most folks wouldn't physically be able to do. AM ended up feeling like a fingertip mouse.

The Abyssus and MX518 are popular among quake players. If you're just playing casual d3, maybe try the naga? the macro buttons are great for browsing and casual stuff.

IMO 1.1
The WMO is a bit wider at the top, otherwise it's pretty much the same shape.
You can still found this mouse on ebay or aliexpress.

the sensor is nice as long as you don't get any dust anywhere near it. it's really sensitive about it tho, and it fucks up your sensitivity when it gets even a little dust in front of the lens.

the shape is a bit wider than the WMO, but still very nice. a lot o buttons and good build quality.

I'd really recomand you a logitech g400 - non prediction version.

I don't think the g400 is closest one to wmo... propably it isn't even close, but it's an awesome mouse! Try it.

donno, i bought mine like a year or two ago then replaced it with a wmo.

wouldnt be surprised if it is though since they discontinued the IME 3.0
