I don't equate MLG with esports.

You're giving numbers to the starcraft stream - thus, support their actual esports portion.

don't they realize these fuckers with Senns 595 can hear the casters?

By

gauss - Reply to #44

I think they haven't done nearly enough to isolate them from the commentary, so unless they enforced a (high) standard game volume then this could have been a concern.

Need for better internet.

By

ZeritoN - Reply to #58

Sure because it's MLG's net's fault that BNet is shit.

Of course you could circumvent the need for it simply by putting LAN in, but that's too simple.

By

vedic - Reply to #60

No, it's MLG's fault that their internet is shit. The only people who really want LAN are the ones who don't want to pay for the game.

By

ZeritoN - Reply to #61

... and all the SC2 players that were just on lo3 complaining that they wanted LAN...

... and just about every SC2 player that wants LAN games...

... Nah you're right, it's MLG's fault

By

vedic - Reply to #62

The "appeal to authority" argument doesn't work when you're not quoting authority. Amateurs complain about a lot of things, and they're all equally invalid.

By

Naghokez - Reply to #62

Don't forget that MLG's internet was working fine during the finals, it was the battlenet servers who were unstable. So yeah, definitely MLG's fault :p

By

gauss - Reply to #62

I'm pretty sure that vedic numbers several arguments 1-6, rolls a die, then considers it his challenge for the day to argue the point no matter how nonsensical or irrational.

By

becks - Reply to #68

quite prossible, but not just for the day.

If he has decided he will keep going forever, or at least until he forgets that he used to have a different opinion before. Then it's his mission to maintain how he did not contradict himself.

By

becks - Reply to #61

yeah, I'm sure jinro and TT1 didn't mind at all that there was a delay which could have been easily solved by Blizzard.

By

kaliberr44 - Reply to #58

They had a working inet connection - the B.NET was down - so your argument is invalid.

By

ZeritoN

Thank God QuakeLive has LAN so we don't have to put up with these sorts of problems with networks at events

I gave up on watching this shit like 2 hrs ago and now I come back and it's not done yet? this is why I love e "sports" .

By

gauss - Reply to #55

It was pretty farcical. Blizz want to have their cake and eat it too, pushing for SCII as a viable e-sport and neglecting to offer basic, vital features congruent to that goal.

(Minor) SPOILERS

It's a real shame as the tournament had so many great moments and outstanding matches that it really warranted a more fitting end. The waiting also was pretty unfair on both the finalists, particularly TT1 who was facing an uphill battle already being 3-1 down.
