So how good is it compared to dota?

Not my cup of tea. Yet anyway.

DotA is a couple of years ahead by the feel of it&#12288;(I actually prefer the WC3 graphics), but it might turn out good in the end. They have a lot of nice "non-gameplay" related things I wish DotA had, "Leave" stats for one.

Upside:

-Engine -> no more WC3 limitations
-Reconnect feature -> reconnect to a game within 5 minutes of having left/disced/crashed
-as Apoxic said, non-gameplay related features like join games via friends list, stats (leave stats), sorting games according to modes, in-game messenger
-less laggy than Dota (I think it's server side)

Downside:
-Some bad hero ports
-Sometimes hard to see what's happening on the screen (was much easier with the simple graphics in wc3)
-fewer heroes than now DotA for now, but more are coming

Overall I prefer it to DotA because it is not limited to WC3 adding some long overdue features.

well that's because of her basic design imo. she's one of the few heroes in dota who actually requires some skill to play.

i disagree.. depends on what context you are talking about. the competitive dynamics of dota, even if it's a pickup game require each players hero to serve a role. mirana's role is very complex because of her abilities which you deem forgiving, as it is up to her to instigate many stabs and make sure that the support is there in the right areas of the map at the right times. maybe to a newbie she is a forgiving hero because she can leap away...but all it means is there is a much larger potential for her to be used very well in the hands of a player with skill.

Well she's one of those heroes that's easy to play but hard to master. I'm just saying once you have the basic understanding of dota she's gonna be one of the top 20ish heroes that you're more likely to succeed with. I'm not talking about newbies being able to leap and turn invisible or whatever I'm saying she doesn't require any special skill to do well with (hitting arrows sure but in a higher level game most of the arrows won't be fired at "random" but will be chained of another stun).
