1- Get a good first spawn
2- Get ra,mega,lg
3- sit around top for 10 mins hitting 40% lg, while denying lg
4- win 50-0 against anyone


Joking aside I did not play it enough to comment for real. But from what I saw from the few times I played it seemed a bit like above :(

raist's right on grabbing mega and RA, but i'd say plasma and rockets are more important
if you can get the rocket area under control, you're going to deny access to upper YA/RA/MH with all PG/RL spam, GL is good too if you grab it on your way out from RA

IMPORTANT: listen to this guy. ^^^^^

Spam rockets at the lower entryways leading to the megahealth, LG, etc. Same for armors, especially the YA near the middle area, if you place your rockets right you can trap your opponent and get an easy frag.

but to avoid coming off a douchebag, i think it's very unlikely the forum comments will help you - or perhaps a tip or trick will help you, but won't improve your overall innate responses to the scenarios you will face, which instead allows you to adapt.

you just have to watch better players play and play yourself. use your brain to overcome the situations you encounter. positioning, timing and aim/dmg given are a byproduct of this. but that said i haven't seen what qzdm13 is like now so..meh. but what i said should go for all duel maps regardless.

think they moved the ya from below the mh to the lg area. not sure tho.

the other thing your wrote is 100% correct. just watching demos and writing on forums won't improve your game, at all. take me for example, I suck bitterly at duel even tho I watched like 1000 cooller demos.

okay more specifically, the problem I am having on it is, say the other guy has control

1) if I get lg,ya area spawn only 2 ways to come out and both easily guarded by rocket, and cant even tell whether the guy is hiding right next to the exit unless he keeps on spamming, which any good player doesnot

2) if I get the sg area spawn again only 3 exits to come out, all covered by rocket user on bridge.

in both spawns all the max I can do is to change levels using the jumppad at the far corner of the map, and at maximum luck permitting get 1 or 2 yellows

So essentially a guy who has control can decide to stay at main platform/ bridge forever and control the whole thing like a bitch, and with QL's weak lg hard to win one with 100 health and 50-75 armor
and other guy feeding on mega all the time.

okay this sounded dumb I know. Only way to do some damage I realized was to hear sounds to know whether the guy has gone to down levels to take mega, RA etc take RL in the meanwhile and keep on eating yellows, well I dont have much patience and with QL rockets and weak lg, it seems to be like hell on low patience...how to make it atleast more fun.

it's not fun. unless you define 'timing a lot of crap at the same time' as fun.

you already said it but the player in control will not be able to guard the entrances all the time. get a time on mega and ra and atleast manage to take the other ya while he's 'away' getting his items. once you're 100/150+ attack them right before mega/ra spawns.

From the times that I've played it and seen it played, it's the map that (in my opinion) needs to be played the slowest and calmest. I find that if I push too early, especially with the wrong weapon (LG is only useful in the RL area) I'll get punished for it heavily. Take your time, and play slow and calm. Some people can pull of playing fast and aggressive, but I think that's not something that should be done for people still learning strategies for the map.

Also, I don't know the QL spawns for it. Sorry =(

The map is utter shit, the solution is to not play it until they fix the tele.

then u control map, use MUCH RJ, MUCH! and this map must be played campy, dont listen who told u spam rockets , better stay silent and hit 10 rockets in ass ! :) ofcors sometimes need spam.. in q3 most important think in dm13 was timing and good position, now timing not so important, more important position, coz rockets are fucking strong.

Cant explain why but I find ztn and t4 the most fun these days, all other maps are shit in some way or other for newb duel players like me.

dm6: most boring, I will still be in favor of getting rid of this map even though in recent times it has produced few very exciting matches. Actually this is a map where +back is a skill and not gayness, and that's messed up.
t9: too random and tele faggotry
dm13: good but not at my level of play, this would be a good map for the masters of quake.
t7: too aim heavy
