i saw half of the flash version on pq4.. made me wanna download the HQ one. good pacing so far... feels like the just quake of q4 vids. there was this part where the synch stood out nicely too.. ill comment again when i watch it in proper quality.

good work so far and i can already see a huge improvement over bloodshed 2. gj and keep it up buddy. i know how hard it is to make vids in q4... the screenshot output is still lame.

I love the parts where the players were lined up to do taunts synced to the song. That was really funny. :)

Great video overall, only suggestion I would give is to adjust the fov, because the guns looked odd.
Also, adjust the color a bit more as it was kinda dark. Those are minor things tho & don't take away from a great video.

That's generally a lot of the feedback, and also some points i agree with. I don't think the FOV should be brought down too much though, maybe only 5 degrees or so

I think another great addition to the series would be the institution of original audio tracks (sp, anybody?).

Must suck to play a game without good frags. Actually there has been a lot of good frags throughout the tourneys with some trickery involved but I guess the creator of this movie wanted to display 'quick' frags only.

Great movie, but still a few things to improve:
- disable health, armor + ammo displays next time
- i didnt like that you changed the aspect ratio, maybe there is another way to achieve 16:9
- outro was way too long
- overall image quality was good but too dark

Nevertheless Im looking forward to your next movie.

6 on my behalf. longer != better

if you would've made a 5 minutes movie with only the best of frags (which were very scarce in this one), that would improve the overall impression.

you should be more and more selective with the material since the Q3 movie scene overused most type of frags.

also 3 minutes credits on a background with map stills => ALT+F4

well.. not to end on a negative note: the good image quality makes it a keeper for me

Yeah, 1.3 did wonders to the pace of the game and you can see it from this movie. I`m no q4 hater and I understand that this was an "event movie" but is it just me that q4 does not lend itself to "omg" frags in the way that q3 does.

what awesome frags you want to see?

every spectacular frag is to be done with projectile weapons
its my own opinion but there is not that much to argue against it

so, current q4 balance and maps provide teh best capabilities to use railgun and shaft mostly. and we have the full lineup of LG/RG masters =) and we have "serious" tournament demos which fills the base for this movie =)

who will try to do some hard frag with RL to provide us spectacular action in movie instead of getting real frag with LG and winning the match in tournament?

current small maps (while we have bigger ones for a long time anyway) are circulated in mappools... gameplay isnt changed much and it all is about aim still... on tournaments

good RL or HB frags are rare and harder to produce

balancing RG (in work atm as far as i can understand) and maybe lowering LG's power will do the trick - there will be more guys in upper parts of brackets who will try to overtake enemy with good-old RL skills

you will have your awesome frags in movies =)

just enjoy what we have atm

Actualy you are wrong.
The RL in q4 1.3 is incredibly strong, it totaly dominated the other weapons in a quite unbalanced way.
The only reason why RL isn't used alot is due to the rl sucking in 1.2 and therefore noone used it in 1.2. They just didn't bother with learning to use rl in the early days of q4 and they haven't noticed how much it owns/haven't goten good with it yet =P

I know that tox is trying to get better with rl, but he is just to much of a noskill for the rl ; )
I also know this, I get alot of frags I shouldn't have with rl. The only other weapon that I get stupid frags with is the sg but wit hthe sg I gamle, with the rl I know I will hit o:

yes it was sarge model and he hited liek a pixel of the hitboy but sarges model is slmaller tahn teh hitbox so he was not vissable if it wouold be tankjr model it would be a normal frag

and its not the topic theg hitboxes in q4 too big so everybody can hit spectacular rails

Great effort and enjoyable vid. Liked mostly the frag to frag editing. But the outro was way too long, you could have sped up the credits or cut the crap and include a .txt with all that info.

Good frag movie imo..

Liked, the quality, and hd xvid, syncing, and editing

disliked, long ass credits (if ur gonna have long ass credits, make sure theres fragging or something to keep ppl who dont give a shit about the credits interested, else its just an automatic 'stop' when credits come..

frags, none of the frags were really special, but they were from an event, and not just collected frags over a long period of time, i guess u did the best u could with the demos from the event.

i'm sure killaton can go and collect frags from top players vs. noobs and you'll see ridiculous air rockets and shafting. when it's the top 8 players in the world, the players usually dont make that many mistakes where they are left open for easy frags.

i'm just a normal player but i can easily go through my demo collection and grab highlight quality frags but i'm a noone and the players i did it against were even noobier. just an example i even sent killa a demo where on monsoon a player was jumping towards mega and i shot at mega ledge, he bounced clear into the middle of the room and another rocket hit him square in the face.

now a frag like that is most likely not going to happen in a toxic vs. fatality game.

all the q3 fanboys who are hating please just stop commenting in q4 threads.

Why are tricks performed in god mode? iT guys could say "lol, using god mode is lame, learn to manage resourses, noobs" and half of those insane tricks would not get watched and discussed ever.

When I've started to play Q3 (2004 year), the first impression that inspired me to play 6 hours per day was... frag movie called "Annihilation". Every frag made me lose consciousness and after the last part I just went crazy. After that I watched ra3 movies... I just want to say, for average spectator only fighting perfomance makes sense, which is risky in pro-games.

And I doubt today's Q4-pros could make airrockets even on newbs, nobody goes for that once there is so strong shaft and rail.

I personaly think, going for airrockets, airgrenades, plasmaclimbs and so on makes the game really fun to play - it shows what the player goes in the game for. If somebody uses only pro-weapons, such as rail and shaft, types "rdy up" every 30 secs and doesnt type smileys when he gets nice frag or performs smart play - it means he personally doesnt care of fun of the game... And playing the game without having fun is... ridiculous :|

pls help!!! why when i download the movie when it gets 2 20-25 % it gives me an error that server was reset? can any1 pls help me? tried all the links 2 dwnload gives me the same error and i tried 2 download it about 8 times now heeelp!!!!!!!!

You asked a stupid question about something we have no idea. How are we supposed to know why you turned it off?

There are plenty of Q3 fanboys posting about how much it sucks, but please, take a second to try and tell us WHY it sucks. If you can't offer any constructive critisism, then please just give the movie a rating and move on. You aren't helping anybody

I dont know if it was just me, but the .avi files are not avi, VLC (Video LAN Classic) works purely because it doesnt use the file extention to work out what kinda of file it is. (GSpot produced the result: Non-AVI File - Type Unknown.)

To get the file to play in MPC (Media Player Classic), changing the extension to .mp4 seemed to work. I didnt try any other players than MPC and VLC.

It looks like you muxed the file using VLC, based on what http://wiki.videolan.org/index.php/Codec has, if so explains a few things, including the extension.

The FourCC (what the decoders use to identify how to decode the video is MP4V, an outdated FourCC from DivX 4 days, (if it was encoded using XviD, then using XviD as the FourCC would make much more sense, (enabling programs like ffdshow to use a special decoder for better performance/quality).

The audio was Mpeg-1?? almost anything else will help you save space, I would recommend mp3 :]

i just watched Bloodshed-1.3-HQ-720p.rar and it had cbr192 mp3 as audio. but i agree on the video, should be .mov (or at least .mp4)

Awesome fragmovie. I really enjoyed it, keep up the good work.

Eventhough it's only from one tournament you can get a good taste of how entertaining Quake 4 actually are.

No, I don't play Quake 4, I play Quake 3 and Call of Duty 2. But I can definitely enjoy great entertainment, no matter how it's delivered.

And this isn't a Quake X vs Quake X post. I've played all of the games in the Quake series for approx 3-4 years each, except for the obvious exception of Quake 4 since it hasn't been out that long. And I have to say that each game has its ups and downs, you can find something really nice about each game. If you spend more time playing and less time whining about it on ESR. :)
