Community I need your help! (42 comments)

Hey, I started with my company in the beginning of 2013. I had found a place with 100m2 +. I have renovated almost everything. I had to put more than 6.000EU for the place. Place was pretty old and it was needed to be renovated. I have been asking our big companies for financial help, but every company refuse to help / donate some money. The company is intended for gamers. The name is / will be ''Allstar gaming z0ne''. What I need for once is:

- 5 Gamer computers,
- 5 LCD 120hz monitors
- 2 gaming consoles
- 2 LED TV (at least113cm),
- LED lighting
- 2 laptops
- All for network
- Security and security cameras
- Licensed games and programs.

This cost me 10,920,00 EUR.

My dreams are to have a gaming center with main game Quake. I was thinking to organise online tournaments with sponsors (like 2gd had for quake and other games).Top 4-8 duelist should be invited here and play finals every month or in every few months. Same goes for other quake live game modes.

Ok, now I need your help. I will need something like kickstarter is to help me with donations. I cant register there also I dont think people will help / donate me at building my company. Im asking you guys! Do you know something where I can get help at donations?

This is video of renovated place (its not finished though - I was out of money to continoue). The video was made for slovenian companies thats why the language is Slovenian: Allstar gaming z0ne

Im actually ashamed to post pictures of this shithole which it was before.

I have to point out! Memento mori already donated / helped me at something. Hes really doing everything for the community!

About companies which refused me to help / donate and why. I can explain everything at pvt because there are so many things to write.

If there are some people who would like to help / donate: ([email protected] - paypall )

''Na kratko vam bom predstavil racunalniske storitve in igralni center'' This are very first words in video introduction.

We will also have computer services (here / at home), making business cards, etc. So it wont be only gaming center, but my primary activity will be gaming center and quake!

Don't want to be a downer, but you need a lot of help. Since I know of you, I know your intentions are good. But I’m sure that to whatever business u showed this it just screamed unprofessional and risk. I can see that u said that the video is not done yet, but u rly need some help with presentation (based on this post). U are basically asking money for “something”.

From business pov u provide no incentive, from a strictly quake community pov no prof of capability.

Again trying not to be negative, but u rly need to try harder. All the luck though.

The video was not made for presentation, process of the company, explaning, etc,.. Video was made for companies as an attachment. They were able to see that I was not bluffing. I sent them a request for allocation sponsorship resources. I explained everything there. It's too much for ESR users. I wanted to be short as possible here. For additional info Im avalible at pvt or via email. [email protected]

Thats basically the purpose of a presentation..

Stripy is right, you just need a solid business plan and a professional looking presentation. Imagine is everything.
But im sure youll get there in time.

ProT :

Clean up the spot, get decent internet, some tables and chairs and organize a Quake LAN party. Get the locals involved (they are your customer base), get some teams/players to attend, sell some beer, food, make some cash. That would be enough to maybe buy 1 PC. Think up of other games/events/bootcamps/whatever you can do to promote and help establish your brand. Rince and repeat. In no time, you'll have an established gaming shop.

Where in slovenia is this located, Prlekija? ... if it is... it could be a good location of international gathering , i guess.

What are your plans of sustaing this business model?

And yes reprezentation is a huge deal so make it count. Since there is no second try at first impression.

Želim ti veliko odločnosti pri tem projektu in upam da ti uspe, da pridem na kako kvako, da ti nabijem mamicu. :P

Who says you have to dream big? Heck, you could just sell your car and have enough if it means that much to you. You don't even look like a business man so maybe you would be willing to do a little bit more under the table for potential sponsors if you know what I mean. ;]

You're not doing anything innovative, you're not developing any groundbreaking product, you're not already providing any services that are liked, you're not promising free access to whatever you will make because of the donations. You seem to be just begging for random people to pay for your entire hardware inventory for your personal business that is likely to be dead on arrival.

Why don't you develop an actual business plan, figure out how many clients you will get, what your monthly expenses will be, what your income will be, and how much profit? Then you can ask for an investment from an investor who evaluate plans like this for a living, instead of asking poor kids on the internet to burn their parents hard earned money.

Entering a field of business does not need to be groundbreaking or innovative, just competitive.. and yes, carefully planned.

CAREEM - Reply to #28

I have business plan. It's written on six pages. Its all scripted. There are also calculations with minimum + - money per month. Location is on the best place in the city (center of the city).

The first sentence is exactly what I have been asked by some companies - this is the reason why we wrote business plan. I've been asking if there are some companies who would like to help me or if there is a web page like kickstarter is so people can help me with donations there.

After all you are right, but with this post I have at least tried and asked for help / good advice of the community since I would love to do something for the community (quake) in the near future.

<< Comment #37 @ 01:38 UTC, 25 September 2013 >>

By

Demiurge +' - Reply to #33

You're not asking for advice anywhere in the post? You list your financial and inventory needs, saying you need 10,000EU and leave a paypal donation email.

If you're asking for business advice, you need to outline your plan and the criticisms any investors have given you and how it needs to be developed to increase chances of profitability.

I reckon making money from a LAN centre has to be one of the hardest things to do.

Hardware is now cheap so anyone can have a decent pc for little £££.
Broadband is everywhere and often decent.
PC Gaming is dying as the console demographic gets bigger.

Electric is not cheap.
Rent etc

I would like to see the books of a successful LAN CENTRE.
