The mouse looks like a quake map. Might be promising..

If you want us to recommend the mouse, send one so we can review it. A lot of elitists here, especially when it comes to mice. So you might consider it.

IDK if it's supposed to be mocking the description, but pick your USB mouse up and look at the underside. Search for input voltage information.

Oh yea, I wrote without thinking by applying the "if it comes from hole in wall it must be alternate" logic... glossing over the PSU and Motherboard completely (and not choosing to form a "glory hole" joke that's in here some where).

Also that's how everything would have worked if Nikola Tesla had his way :(

no u, because you cant control AC with as much precision as DC, DC will always have it's place, just as AC will.

you can control both AC and DC with ppm uncertainties (and the cost is related to power and peak levels).
anyway, it's easier to associate bits to DC logical levels or DC voltages to numbers (no waveform sync, less EMC issues and a ton of other reasons), as, eg, it's more convenient to transfer power through AC waveforms.

i honestly didn't think you had a chance in hell to control AC to make electronics, and that was why DC was used, but it probably comes down to me not having a clear understanding of it in the first place. Anyway, thanks for trying to explain it to me.

np doped, in fact you know some AC-driven circuits, e.g. the GSM system in your phone: AC carriers shift a DC signal (your information) around a specific frequency spectrum (check PLLs and super-eterodina schemes if you wanna dig it), or the way power lines work: you use the 220~ network to carry ADSL data.
in fact, this is not common, but you can even transfer high power on AC or custom-shape outputs: most of the converters in here are delivering kW/MW with 10-50ppm precision and the output shape is a well defined trapezoidal pulse.
