better aim? i doubt it.. Dr. brings some -MAJOR- DM aim (both q3 and hl) to the table. As for communication and teamwork.. hmmm Thats really up in the air.
Dr. has amazing communication from what i've seen/heard(musthelp that they are all local). But anyway, in the end i'm sure it'll come down to who knows the map better which is Paradigm Shift, without a doubt.
If only dr. had the map and match experiance as the other top tier teams did, these guys sure do got the gunners.

This match, along with abuse/D|S should turn out great. IMO the winners of both these matchs will be the ones meeting each other in the final game for the big prize.

Anywho, It's been a good run DR, gl to yall on prooving everyone wrong this tuesday.. i'll be rooting for ya! :)

Well I was just talking from the experience of playing both teams and -p- seems better than Dr to me

I think the abuse vrs D|S match will be closer than most ppl think.

I know Abuse is a good team, but i don't think they've played base enough to take the match from D|S on base.... if it was assault then it would be up in the air :)

Pretty much agree with ya, although the abuse vs darkside game will be clooose, meesa wants RTCWTV NOW! :)

Why don't you all stop saying "Dr. doesn't have the experience" and do something to help us! Scrim us as much as we can, we don't know nothing about this map, what works and what doesn't, where to position players or how many of each class we need and where, etc. This will be our toughest match yet and these little details are more important now and could be the difference in the match.

We don't have a lot of time to prepare and we got some CS matches to worry about as well even though we aren't practicing CS now, we still have to complete our matches. Only if we had played RTCW more than 3 days before this tourney started, I think our lack of experiece will really hurt us here :(

I'm sure some of the other teams remaining are looking for some scrim partners, #doctors on g.net or etg, or we'll scrim any other good team, doesn't matter to us, any practice helps :)

Fun to read predictions as usual. Nice to see we have some believers out there. But I totally understand how we are the major underdogs. Paradigm Shift is a great RtCW clan and it will take a lot of hard work on our part to get prepared for this match. Hope it will be ggs...

If anything, the -P- vs. dr matchup has the greatest probability of an upset. It all boils down to how well dr can overcome -P-'s strategy in the middle of the game. Perhaps over the past few weeks they've gained enough experience to handle it.

There's only one way to find out.

First off, I am not, and have never been a member of any rtcw clan.
I am just an unbiased player who felt like offering an opinion. I have been watching, and this is what i see.....
I will agree with 2 of Thors predictions. Empire over Krieg, and DT over WM.

But as far as the other matches..... -P- vs Docs, I am not so sure who to pick, but I would not be suprised if the Doctors take this one.
I think the main issue in this match is the defensive strat that -P- uses on base.
Nothing personal, but its the lamest thing I have ever seen.
After viewing a demo of -P- scrimmaging Empire, where -P- uses the strat of only defending one tower, I think any team good enough to have made it to this round of 8 should be able to blow both towers on -P- every round.
It is just a matter of how long it will take. From what I saw, -P- could not, and would not even attempt to adapt to Empires offense basically making it easy for Empire to manhandle them.
Not to mention, -P- couldnt even plant on Empire through the whole scrimmage. But I am willing to give -P- the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they just had a bad day, maybe not.
Or maybe it is the other way around? If Thor is so sure that Empire is not a top tier team, maybe Empire got lucky? I think not. It may have only been a scrim, but both teams wanted to win badly, and you all know it.
Knowing that -P- has used that defense on everyone they have played on base, gives the Doctors a very good chance of winning. Only edge -P- has is the Doctors inexperience with the game.... and maybe if they change their strat :)

D|S vs Abuse.....
My upset of the week. Well, according to everyone who thinks D|S is a sure thing to win, that is.
I say bah. If you dont think that Abuse has a VERY good chance of beating D|S, then you are a jackass.
Sure, D|S has won this, and done that, and blah blah blah, they are the best :/
Not trying to take away from D|S, but it is pretty obvious to me that after only starting the game days before this tourney, that Abuse has proven their abilities without a doubt.
Like I said, my upset of the week, Abuse over D|S.

My prediction for the finals of this tourney is III vs Abuse. Thor saying that III is gonna get spanked in the semis is just silly bumping of his gums trying to fan flames.
Same with that lame remark at the end of the column about WM preparing to get owned. Thor, you suck as a column writer. You are supposed to have an ubiased view when it comes to this shit.

Empire doesn't post their demos becuase they drop / pickup gun exploit =(. They did have demos of them playing on their web page but they took them off.

If I was striking back, why would I be helping to make RtCW more popular? Or playing in one of the nations top teams?

I love RtCW, and I think the attitudes of the players is a huge improvement over the whining and bickering found in nearly every other community. I think this is a direct result from the comprehensive gameplay that adapts for many different styles of play. It doesn't focus too heavily on one specific type of skill such as aim, timing, mastering multiple weapons, but at the same time has enough room for individuality so players can develop their own unique style for approaching situations.

RtCW balances of all the skills required for other FPS games, teamplay, and speed. Instead of creating feelings of bitterness and people complaining about deficiencies, everybody comes together and competes hard regardless of the outcome.

My columns are merely an attempt to create some pre-game hype for a great tournament's highly-skilled matchups. Predicting in favor of a team pushes them to make the prediction come true. Predicting against a team pushes them to practice harder to prove me wrong. None of my predictions target any specific person or slander the name of those who play for teams I predict against. Should that ever happen, I will be the first to publicly apologize.

To tell you the honest truth, I've only found 'bitterness' or angst from a few bad apples from the same general group of people.

Oddly, most of it is in IRC, where people feel less likely to be quoted.
