First off, please tell us a bit about yourself (Name, location, interests, etc).
My name is Alejandro Gonzalez, I'm from Venezuela, but I'm living in florida at the moment. I like playing sports, mostly futbol (soccer for the gringos), going to the beach surfing, and ofcourse duelling.
What exactly does your name mean, or is it just a name?
When I started playing quake I just used Venezuela as nickname.
Then I played with serm and he did not believe I just had that nick, so he told me to put elpajuo and I just stayed with it.

It's a venezuelan word but if I tell you I'd have to kill you! I like it mainly because the americans can't pronounce it.

(the name is actually an insult)
What games did you play before you started CPMA?
My first computer game was Halflife and I got it over a year after it released. I still think it's the best game. I played the singleplayer, and online after that on Venezuelan dialup. :(
Played CS in the first betas and when I got bored of it I started playing quake3. I got Quake3 when it came out but I saw it as just a free for all deathmatch and didn't like it at all.
when I found the 1v1 part I started playing for real, now I love duelling. :)
Can you tell me something about your duelling history?
I started playing osp and it was really hard, I didn't have as much fun because I had my terrible connection with 100 ping to the closest server.
I went to quakecon2k2 I think? The one that lexer won, I got owned but it was really fun still.
Then I stumbled on a matrox cpm3 demo and I knew that's what I was going to play.
I like both osp and cpm but I really have more fun in promode and that's what I play the most.
some of the wins I can think of are:

retraced osp: 1st place, won a pentium 4 2.8ghz 512 mb ram powersupply and motherboard by OPC
lan in tampa: with czm, clast, dkphenom and carde : 2nd place (whooped by czm) but I beat carde and I got a geforce5900 ultra. :D
CPM Challenges2: 3rd place
CPM Challenges3: 1st place
GGLeague: 1st place. Won this monster Alienware laptop that I'm using right this moment.

I think overall I improved the most in osp when playing clast, hes really cool and great to pub with.
and in CPMA just rocketjumping around. q;D
You've been playing CPMA for quite some time, do you remember the moment that people started to recognise you as one of the best?
Well since the beginning I think I was good on CPM3 and people knew that, but on the other maps I was not that good because I didnt play those that much.
I think people saw I was good in CPMA during the Challenges2 tournament Donking ran.
Donking did discriminate and gave me like seed 90 ;)
But I got 3rd place. I didn't get hard matches at the start anyways with seed 90 so it was ok. :)
How would you describe your playstyle?
I don't have alot of patience, so I try to attack alot. My favorite map is definitely cpm3 because I can do this there everytime.
I did remember that you were very defensive in some of the more important Challenges2 games, you actually had the patience of the world. Did that change or was that just because of the opponents?
I think once my aim and movement got better there was less need to play defensive. Right now on cpm3 I rush most of the time, but yes on other maps I try to play defensive or I lose; like on cpm15. but in cpm1a there is less control and I think I rush even more than cpm3 on cpm1a.
What do you dislike most about yourself as a gamer?
I dont have enough patience sometimes, when I play someone really defensive I can end up getting owned.
I try not to whine most of the time because playing defensive and smart is how you win easier. Thats why I really hate maps like ztn and cpm15 too.
What do you like about yourself?
I'm too aggressive in most pubs, especially when people are aliased against me. But I play better and smarter if I know the other player is good. I can however, get pissed sometimes in osp. But if that happens I just go and play some cpm3.
You're currently the best in the NA CPMA scene, to be and stay the best you have to practice.
How would you describe your practicing routine?
I think my cpma practice sucks, usually I just play cpm3 with soloist (who never plays cpma) and we just have alot of fun playing together. I win most of the time but he pauses the game whenever he owns me with a great frag and starts taunting things like "Keep America clean DONT IMMIGRATE!!"
I think having fun and not getting too serious helps me alot in cpma. so that way you have more patience when you get into a match.
Do you think age is a factor in reaching the top, or does it not matter how old you are?[q]I think it definitely matters, not so much with losing reflexes and \ or aim because you could make it up by playing smarter.
But once you get older you have less time to play and practice the game so its harder staying on top. This year I was able to play alot but I'm going to college next year and you don't get to have alot of time left to play the game.
That has gotten into aph and that's why he doesn't play anymore.
