I made a poor man's wmo + 3366 mod. It works perfectly but i have to use thin mouse skates because otherwise the sensor cannot track properly. I noticed the sens feels slower. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the sensor distance. Can lod affect sens?

Is it a lack of flexibility? But isn't it normal for people without OCD who are just very motivated about something to lack flexibility because it takes them out of the rhythm of things? I ask this question because whenever i get motivated to learn about something e.g. cooking i will learn about it to the point where it takes up all my time and i annoy myself because i could be spending my time doing better things like studying.

I have discovered all mouse sensors should be on the right hand side because we can aim further to the left with our wrist than to the right and the only reasonable solution to have it equal is to have sensors on the right hand side so that the rotation of right mouse movement is activated earlier allowing further xhair distance on the right side. The way we have sensors placed now limits our ability to effectively use a lower sensitvity setup as our left aim movement has more wrist distance than our right aim movement.

I found out how evil aims vertically very well. His sensitivity helps but what I noticed is he likes to keep his xhair as horizontal as possible making it easier for him to hit harder from a vertical angle. I also found out rapha likes to make the mega and ra clash when he is over-stacked on armor sometimes even if he is out of control and/or the opponent knows so that he can deal damage at the major items while being able to take his own major item safely or the opponent can waste his time waiting for ra and if he decides to give up on ra then you can delay him so you can steal the mega. This works especially well on maps like battleforge where you can punish both major items easily without sacrificing a major or receiving lots of damage. t7 works too but it's harder to defend/delay if enemy gives up waiting on red. The more you know :)

After lots of in-game testing and coding/mathematic help from Aiya and his friend I have managed to replicate the kinzu accel feeling to the point where my aim is actually better than the kinzu.
*The config is made for the wmo @ 430dpi and the kinzu v3 @ 500dpi. You must use a claw grip otherwise the accel will feel bad.
As of current the claw grip config feels better than the kinzu for -
- high sens (18cm/360 + forwarded wmo sensor) with a claw grip
- low sens (24cm/360 + further back kinzu sensor + strenx aiming style - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwWqKHWhHMQ) with a claw grip
I have found that you must use the appropriate sensitivity to the sensor position otherwise the accel will feel like crap. If you use a high sens use a wmo with it's forward sensor position. If you use a low sens use a kinzu v3 with it's further back sensor position.
If you have any other mouse with a different sensor position from the kinzu/wmo these configurations may not work very well so i have made a guide to help users find their own settings in the 2nd post.
Are corporations getting more corrupt or is it just reddit making me cynical? It seems every time we take 1 step forwards we take 2 steps backwards in the 20th century. Corporations just have too much money and power in their hands that every time we fix a loophole/law they find a new one to break. I'm starting to believe that corporations are keeping us happy just enough so that we don't start a revolution, not intentionally like some stupid illuminati conspiracy but because people are lazy and eventually we will reach a point where corporations have successfully buttfucked us from every angle just enough.
Are things really getting worse or are they slowly getting better?

Since you won't be attending qcon why not add accel again and go back to your old sens (sens 4. accel 0.1, 400dpi) so we can see some old rockets cypher vs evil games? I've been following you since you started using very low accel to counter evils lg your have rockets become much more inconsistent. Even av3k said in an interview that your rockets have gotten worse. I know that in important games like qcon you barely miss your rockets but it hurts to watch you miss all your rockets in situations you usually wouldn't against an over-aggressive lg rushing evil over and over again online. I couldn't think of a more entertaining match than a 2010 homing missile cypher vs current lg hax evil. Funny thing is the last time we saw old sens cypher vs evil was at zotac 133 and cypher won with a 100 ping.

Hello, is it possible to make a script that only turns on autohop when holding down +moveup for longer than 0.5 ~ 1 second then turns it back off after letting go? The reason i ask is because i find autohop is bad for movement on most maps because it double jumps when you don't want it too but on some areas of the map it is quite useful.
Hello, i want learn how to play aggressive and am looking for demos/vods of av3k playing aggressive. Many people say he is very aggressive player but looking at many of his ql videos he seems pretty normal tbh. Maybe he was more aggressive in q4? What is a good demo/vod or time period i should look for when av3k play very aggressive. Thx
Why do i flick better with rockets with accel even if my no accel sens is high enough to flick to the spot i need?
Why do i flick better with rail without accel even if im using a accel sens that is lower than my no accel sens and allows for greater precision?
Now ofc this is subjective but i've played for a long time and it's always felt this way for me and i've yet to see a no accel player @ any sens hit consistently awesome rockets (i'm talking about rockets at the highest level here)

Since takasta and dacheng don't sell oem wmo's anymore i bought 2 from 2 different guys and they both work great but the buttons click when i lift and tap the mouse. Is there any guide online to fix this?

How come an old game like cs is now more popular than ever whereas quake is in a gradual decline? People say it's because cs is easy to pickup and near impossible to master whereas quake is just difficult to start off with and near impossible to master. I consider myself a pretty good player but when i played go even when i tried to play smart (camp etc) i just died straight away so i don't get where this whole easy to get into thing began. At least with quake you start off with 200 200 and last much longer in fights even if you do lose every fight.

Hello, for some reason i cannot play old demos using wolf whisperer. It is stuck on awaiting connection and has no image background when i play a .dm_73 file. I have used both the newest version and a slightly older version and made sure to uninstall it properly using revo uninstaller. Any ideas?
Hello, i just installed ql on xp because i can't get 250fps on certain maps with win8. I've noticed ql is a lot smoother on win8 than xp for some reason. For e.g. on xp when i get close to the models they jitter more like i lowered my timenudge but every setting between win8 and xp is the same. I've made quite a few placebo posts on esr over the years but i am 100% sure this is not placebo, i can clearly see the difference with my eyes. Anyone else experience this?
I just tried rinput in ql for fun (http://fnatic.com/downloads/662). quake live is different from other games so had to look for a work around to make it work. This is how i got it to work.
First i launched ql and set in_mouse 1 in my config. Then i made sure to join a game before launching rinput because rinput messes with the ui and makes thing unclickable. Then finally i launched it and typed quakelive.exe to console. After playing around between in_mouse 2 and rinput a bit i noticed rinput felt higher sens yet i reached the same 360/cm.
This means either rinput has some weird accel or ql input is bugged and the faster mouse feeling is from less input lag.. Am i just imagining things or does anyone else feel this too?

Does any exist and has anyone tried one? Someone here said all mouse have smoothing to a certain point and the general consensus for mouse smoothing is the lower the better among gamers because of the extra input lag mouse smoothing introduces.

Sometimes i cannot find certain servers in the server browser and i can only join them through the friends list. This sucks for places like Australia because of the low userbase. Anyone else get this problem?
(Before you read this just a reminder i don't know shit about the netcode so there may be a lot of incorrect info down below)
What's the difference between CPMA and QL netcode? Does QL have xerp and laghax like CPMA? If so why do people say CPMA netcode is better? is ql netcode possibly buggy?
I often hear comments about people wishing for cpma netcode but it seems like as strange as it sounds it would have a negative effect in ql. From my pov ql lg is op online (just look at the faceit and zotac winners).and this is the sacrifice we make to have lg clientside. If cpma netcode is as good as ppl say it is then it feels like i'm starting to understand Weird's netcode plan of removing client side detection of lg while improving the netcode to cpma quality. It would be interesting to see how the gameplay would change online. Would the weapon balance be improved? Would it make rockets become op? But even if this change brought us closer to the feel of lan gameplay it may possibly cause the wet noodle lg forcing ppl to aim differently onlne (more then now) and causing ppl to quit. All in all something that needs to be carefully considered.
injx says cl_mouseaccelpower 1 will disable accel entirely and just increase your sens. But i have set my accelpower to 1 and tested the difference with cl_mouseaccel 3 and cl_mouseaccel 0 using half of my mousepad and swiping it to the very edge until it stops tracking several times. I have noticed there is a difference, small but noticable. With cl_mouseaccel 0 i can do a 180 whereas with cl_mouseaccel 3 i can do a 270. Also i am not the kind of player who can rocket well without accel, but with accelpower 1 and cl_mouseaccel my rockets are very consistent. Someone else test this and confirm it's not just placebo because i am very sure accel exists within accelpower 1.
Also I am curious what the accel curve looks like with accelpower set at 1
Is it possible to replicate kinzu hardware accel using cl_mouseaccelpower command? The reason i want to do this is because i like the feeling of the kinzu hardware accel compared to quake accel and the reason for this i think is because of the curve. I'm not alone in this as evil and strenx also prefer the kinzu feel. I guess the first step to getting that kinzu feel would be making a graph of the accel curve in the kinzu and then trying to mirror that using the cl_mouseaccelpower command. I also think i would aim better using cl_mouseaccelpower compared to using kinzu because the cl_mouseaccelpower is a consistent curve compared to the kinzu.
Originally i wasn't going to post this because of the possible negative attention that will come by posting this for a bunch of people who are trying to help the community. But this tournament is receiving so little attention that i thought if anything i am helping them. So anyway some dudes are creating a tournament called World Quake League. They are already accepting sign ups and posted a thread on esr - https://www.esreality.com/post/2383712/world-gamers-arena/ . But the page only has 5 comments. Before they posted on esr they made a thread on 4sg (Australia's biggest ql forum) and advertised there upcoming tourney. They said they are going to support all mods with $1000 prize money for each div. yep, you head it right. Each div! (source - http://4seasonsgaming.com/forums/viewtopic.ph...;start=100). A lot of people on 4sg are obviously skeptical of a tourney with such little coverage and a big prize money. Some people have called me a dumbass for falling for the trollbait but honestly, who would go this far just to troll people?

Sometimes in quake when i play for 1hr+ straight i get really immersed in it and then i get short term memory loss where i forget who i am, who these people are and where i am. Saying that might make it sound dramatic but it doesn't mean i 100% completely forgot it for that short moment of time. Makes me forget how to play the map in quake sometimes too.It happens most frequently in quake but happens outside of quake too e.g. when i start daydreaming. Anyone else get this? could this be a potentially serious issue? I've only experienced this about 6 times in 1 year and it stopped happening when i quit duel and now that i started it's happening again.

Just curious as to who has the best timing in ql. I asked rapha and he said he times up to 4 items and on maps like aero he tries to time 5 but that's where things to start to get difficult he said. I also heard czm and cooller time the shards and hp bubbles but is there any proof in that?
I was thinking of a duel opponent notifier tool that goes like this - You might want to browse a forum instead of idling on a server for 10 mins waiting for someone to join. So this tool will let you join a server while browsing a forum and creates a sound effect or auto-full screens when someone joins the server. The problems i could see arising with the tool is duel servers automatically disconnect you if you stand in one spot for too long. Maybe you can overcome this by having the tool make you move forever. This might not be a problem for you euros who always have a server to join but it could help heaps for the lower populated countries. If i had experience with coding i would try and make this but unfortunately i don't. So i thought i would leave this idea here.

When i have pg,mg,lg i want to use 90zoomfov,0.49 zoomsens,m_pitch -0.036 and whenever i have any other weapon i want 55 zoomfov, zoomsens 1 and m_pitch -0.022. The problem im facing is that even though i can easily bind the zoomfov and zoomsens into the weapon binds i want the m_pitch to change only when zooming. e.g. my normal m_pitch is -0.022 but when i use pg,mg,lg i want m_pitch -0.036 only when zooming.
In my old config i used to be able to do this but i forgot so can some script pros help me out?
bind MOUSE2 "+zooming"
seta zooming "alias +zooming zoomingPlus;alias -zooming zoomingMinus"
seta zooming2 "alias +zooming zoomingplus2;alias -zooming zoomingMinus2"
alias +zooming "zoomingPlus2"
alias -zooming "zoomingMinus2"
alias +zooming "zoomingPlus"
alias -zooming "zoomingMinus"
alias zoomingPlus "+zoom;cg_zoomfov 90;cg_zoomsensitivity .49;m_pitch -0.036"
alias zoomingMinus "-zoom;m_pitch -0.022"
alias zoomingPlus2 "+zoom;cg_zoomfov 55;cg_zoomsensitivity 1;m_pitch -0.022"
alias zoomingMinus2 "-zoom;m_pitch -0.022"
bind 1 "weapon 1;vstr zooming"
bind 2 "weapon 2;vstr zooming2"
bind 3 "weapon 3;vstr zooming"
bind 4 "weapon 4;vstr zooming"
bind q "weapon 5;vstr zooming"
bind e "weapon 6;vstr zooming2"
bind r "weapon 7;vstr zooming"
bind f "weapon 8;vstr zooming2"
but i always get the error "unknown command +zooming"

I use 3.5 sens with 0 accel. What zoomsens do i need to to use have an equivalent of 2 sens 0 accel with 90zoomfov? I used to use 90zoomfov with .57 zoomsens but it feels a bit higher than sensitivity 2 with 90fov.
Being a lg whore i found it a problem finding a good sensitivity for lg. High sens i could pull off some insane hitscan in weird situations but when it came to situations where the opponent could dodge I was always outshafted unless i had low sens. So i came up with a solution for people like me. Use 2 sens! Here are the cvars below -
alias +myZoom "sensitivity 2.5;cl_mouseaccel 0"
alias -myZoom "sensitivity 4.3;cl_mouseaccel .1"
bind shift "+myZoom"
This is what i currently use. it takes a while to get used too and its not perfect but i found it the better than using 1 sensitivity for lg.
I heard because with lower res = lower amount of small mouse movement picked up. So pros use this for consistency but a downside is they cant get the very precise shots which require tiny mouse movement. Is this true?
I've finally settled between these 2 mouses for what I'm going to buy. I've never used a WMO but from the looks of it it, it feels like the grip is going to feel "cheap". Some people dislike the Xai because of the accel but I don't think a tiny bit of accel will hurt my performance and would rather have a bit of accel as long as it's more comfy. I have never used these 2 mouse so this is purely speculation and I would like to have feedback from people who own both these mouse. Basically which one is more comfortable?
I downloaded the patch to update Q4 to 1.4.2 and Q4max .78d and it said i need the pk4 file called zz-q4max-game-078d.pk4 which i downloaded from google and put it inside q4max folder but when i play the demo it shows the loading screen then just goes back to the menu. Anyone have a solution to this?
I am getting a 120hz monitor soon. But i have heard from some people rockets feel slightly better at 160hz compared to 120hz. The fps is capped at 125 so some people say the only difference they see would be 5hz but I'm not sure if monitors work that way. Anyone tried a good 120hz monitor with low input lag (e.g. 2233rz) to a 150-160hz CRT? Is there any difference?
