i ate a bee when i was younger. it flew right into my mouth as i was eating soup.

bees killed my grandfather. he disturbed a nest in the yard, the hive attacked him. he was quite old so when he tripped he couldn't get up. the entire swarm stung him.

A bee killed a cousin of mine once.He was driving on his job,stopped for something to eat and it stung him in his throat.It began to swell and cut his airway.

It's a family thing i think as i got a wasp down my shirt when i was young and it stung me loads of times.Luckily i was right near my uncles house so i ran in and he put his hand up my shirt and killed it but not before it had stung me loads.I then had a reaction within minutes and was rushed to hospital unconcious and they gave me a shot(adrenaline i think it was) and other treatment that saved my life.

yeah its called Anaphylaxis, and you would of gone into Anaphylactic shock. I am the same and I am very weary of bee's, I use to carry around when I was younger one of those one-shot injectors of adrenaline in case I got stung above my neck.

btw, us southerners (ie not pussy northerners/euros) just smack the shit out of them. we don't care, we're not weak. I've stepped on a gazillion wasps and got stung by hornets many a time. It doesn't really bother me. haven't yet been attacked by a large swarm, though.

I once woke up to find a wasp crawling over my face, is a little freaky upon waking I tell you, wasn't sure whether to go mental and freak out or stay really still and hope it left. Sure enough, it flew off when I moved so I kicked it's ass and added to the 'dead pile' (I had a wasp's nest just outside my room, after a pile of dead wasps that'd come in my room built up, they stopped coming in, which was nice - wasp free summer),

Uh, other than that unfortunate grandaddy I've found bee's to be generally harmless - they don't sting unless threatened.

Had one trapped against my football sock as a kid and it kept stinging me and buzzing because it could not fly away.
Very distressing to the point where my breathing changes if one is near me even today.

I do get kinda freaked out by bees to be honest, it was funny the other day actually, I was at my dads and one flew at me and just sat on my shirt, I flipped out an started basically running backwards, knocked over a clothes line, Really really hope neither tom or sean read this.

Although bees don't bother me nearly as much as wasps do, wasps are just cunts, I actually recently got stung on the temple, a little bit anyway, I felt it and ripped it out before it had a chance to do anything so it just felt like nettles. I also got stung when I was a kid... I'm weird about insects though.

When bees or wasps are inside and people are scared, I am usually the one that gets some tissue and catch them to release outside.

I really don't think it's fair to the wasps to kill them just because they were unlucky enough to get inside. They pose little threat to humans if people leave them alone and don't aggravate them. But I am not allergic so it's not dangerous to catch them, and it feels really rewarding to save their life since most people just kill insects.

I've been stung 4-5 times, a couple times while riding a bike and being unlucky enough to hit one out of the air stinger side first or have it land on you and obviously be freaked and sting.
But bees and wasps are amazing, I like them almost as much as Ants. My dad used to keep bees but they are not hardy and tracheal mites or viruses take them out easily.

I love watching ants work when I'm outside because they're so cool. Can anyone from Sweden tell me about the different types of ants you have up there?

how can you live somewhere without ants? Supposedly they live on every continent except Antartica. They're really neat creatures scavenging for food and tunneling underground to store food and make their nests. We have them all over in Minnesota. If you go to different places in the united states there are alot of different species. Minnesota probably has the best ants because very few of ours have painful bites or stings. In Africa the ants will take over entire villages and eat everything or so I heard.

We are severely lacking in insects over here. It's a good thing imo. Just some flies and spiders really.
