I bought some expensive designer sunglasses ~10 years ago, I still have them and they work fine. The lenses have absolutely no aberration which is incredibly difficult to find in cheaper sunglasses.

A friend of mine also hated the lens aberration, but he could not go a month without destroying a pair so my solution was not viable for him.

So if you are able to take care of your stuff, it could be worth the extra expense.

Quiksilver sniper black. Bought them 16+ years ago for 70 eur, they've travelled the world and survived a thousand drunken adventures and miraculously I never lost them, just a bit scratched from sand and sleeping on pavements and whatnot. Perfect for outdoors, very robust, still wear them to this day.

They most likely don't make them anymore but this is basically what they look like:

that's like some early 2000's glasses, probably not. I do remember every "cool kid" had one of these when i was growing up.
