As casters.. couldn't be better pick zoot and mister J. Kaplan <- dude has really a potential casting Quake. Hope to see him cast more quake in future with zoot. Cypher could literally retire and some people would still have him as favorite in any tournament.

Particularly absurd since in the last part of his ql career he was heavily underrated and dismissed at every tournament he took part into;

He then moved on to another game, came back to quake champions, did nothing of note, was beat up by people that in quake live wouldn't even see him on the map, and somehow there's always someone saying he's gonna win.

There are at least 5 players better than him in this tournament alone (at least going by their performance in quake champions so far); and some more in the whole community.

Not to mention, he's still playing on wmo. The last tournament's flop didn't teach him anything. Even Rapha moved on.

That doesn't mean he needs to win in order to be favourite player. I like him as a player / person and his unique style. For me personally, cypher is the best player in Quake. If he put that amount of hours to quake as Raisy, Rapha, Pikawa or Agent he would have been unstoppable.

But you're admitting you rate him this high only based on irrational personal preferences. That's my point, i like him too, and i think he's a wasted potential, but anyone who claims he's the top in quake champions is only saying so based on emotions because the facts so far point out that for whatever reasons Cypher is far from being even top 3 in quake champions. Maybe it's just not his game.

After all, we have big names in this tournament. We can expect 3/4 active scene watching this tournament so we will see 2000+ live viewers for sure, if not more.

A few pros mentioned after DHW that they weren't going to practice QC exclusively without any further tournaments announced with prizemoney. This includes at least Killsen, Cooller, Noctis I think.

Most pros aren't training as hard as they could because what's the point, if every paramenter changes on a weekly basis?

You have to constantly re-learn and adapt to the "meta". It's frustrating and unrewarding for the pros, so they wait before torunaments to train and/or half ass it.

There was about 1100 or so during the live game. Anyhow 1100 is quite small, 2GD used to get more than that on his QL showmatches between 2 of europe's big names.

I can't think of a worse looking, playing or feeling Quake game. Even all the clones have done a better job of not compromising the game but I'm sure the id software and the yes men! will blame the community for pointing out how shallow and dull the gameplay is, how boring and uninspired the atheistic is.

From the very early CBT it was clear that there was (and continues to be) no meaningful way of collecting, sorting and prioritizing player complaints, bugs, and issues. There is an army of idiots trying to convince people to "not be negative in public" about the game because it might hurt player numbers (lol) lead by people like zoot and Makavelli. The common narrative is "Quake needs to change" yeah no shit, but this garbage is nothing but slap in the face of the Quake community who have supported this series for 20+ years.
