Well 125fps prize pool is big enough to make sunday cups + a special cup instead of current league they do.
I always found sunday cups more attractive as everything plays out in a day and you get to see top players battle it out every week.

Well I mean the league was a great addition to the cups ofc, but now that there are no cups I think they should be the priority or some mix of it.

the 125fps prize pool mostly consists of one guy and hes donating that money only to the monthly league. Though dont take my word for it, I might be wrong

the league is a superior format, especially for gs1 players who get to play several matches instead of signing up for a cup and getting crushed in the first round because of the seeding

I liked the sunday cups as a viewer because it was over in around 4 hours with (usually) little downtime, but once the 125fps league started, it was too much (especially when it's duel only). there was practically nothing fresh

typical sunday :

ro64 : hey guys, I'm ddk and today my guest is no fucking body, AGAIN, now let's get into the game to watch dopey-other 1700elo dude playing tox or silence
ro32 : gekko-poni on dm13
ro16 : 2 games, sev3n-demon on cure and poni-twister on hub or t7
quarter : ash-pavel (ash picks cure, pavel picks ztn, tie-breaker on aerowalk with a score of 11 to 8) or demon-pavel
semi : cypher-ash, evil-agent (nobody knew agent had been playing all this time except a few angry people on esr) or any combination resulting in 3 russians and 1 belarussian
final : cypher-evil

in 2013 that was a 1.5-2k viewers affair, in 2014 they barely had 1k for the final

You can just say

"The 125fps is a league where people play Quake and in the end evil wins" (replace evil with cypher if the only lan that is left is around the corner)

Correct, but in the current league format the players not named evil and cypher can play a lot more matches and new names show up as well.

Also the daily league is rather nice for spectators. If it wasn't for the 125fps league there wouldn't be anything to watch about quake (besides quakecon once a year), while cs:go, LoL and others have plenty of things going on all day every day.

We will surely keep doing stuff with r/quakelive. Dont expect faceit-like tournament frameworks and br00tal prizepools but we will do what we must because we can.

Do it for the good of all of us (except the ones who are dead).

Next cup will be no limit duel sometime mid-January, FWIW.

EDIT: Forgot to add .... 125 fps plays A LOT of games already. It might not be a "Sunday Cup" but the month long event probably equates to more quake than a cup four times a month. In fact it was already mentioned in this very thread http://www.esreality.com/post/2698747/n-a/#pid2698555

As for weekly sunday cups I am 100% willing to admin and cast/stream this, but I cannot fund both the NA Duel Cup and a Sunday Cup. That said I'm fairly sure that 125fps team is willing to manage something like this as well, and I'm sure the ZLive team would help cast/stream. So now with that said if someone wants to fund this I am on board to collaborate with the above mentioned parties or even do it myself; could have it up within 2-4 weeks easy. Either in the regular NA Duel Cup in the coming months (cup #5 is January 10th btw) or in an unannounced event being planned by an unknown organization, but I hear the person managing the whole thing is flairly awesome.
