was my plan at first because i broke the switch of the right button due to rage in game.
but as i have a logitech G3 (yeah i know, not really a good mouse) and an old MX300 as well i just took that switch.

and now that i am so damn proud of my soldering skillzzz i just have to make the G3 work .. anyhow! :p

but that +zoom -zoom thing doesnt really work .. maybe i just go with cg_fov?
or is +zoom something complete different?

unfortunately the right button sucks for quake now, its ok for windows though.
i think i gotta take the side buttons for zoom.

The problem with that (and your solution as well, though you could adjust it) is that the sensitivity doesn't adjust itself automatically. Sensitivity X at FOV N isn't equivalent to sensitivity X at FOV N+1. You can't really use cvarmult to adjust the sensitivity either because the correct transformation uses trigonometric functions. Zoom actually takes care of that. So if you want, you can use that instead :

bind mwheelup cvaradd cg_zoomfov -10
bind mwheeldown cvaradd cg_zoomfov 10
bind mouse3 cg_zoomfov 90

...but it's only useful when you're playing zoomed. I had the idea to use the zoomed state as a normal state and zoom with the non-zoomed state... if you can understand that...

But there are issues. First of all, to stay in zoomed state, you need cg_zoomtoggle 1. Which means you can't go into non-zoomed state temporarily by maintaining a button pressed. That sucks... unless you're already used to this behaviour I guess. Another problem is that the default state is non-zoomed so you'll start your matches with a fov of cg_fov (which will be low as it's your real zoomed state) and this is annoying.

It was a joke and I never used it unless an idiot was spectating me. TFC doesn't have cvaradd and those other features. Then I learned how to crash people's games simply by changing my current alias.
