Hi, my name is megaman3 (lol) and one of the biggest reasons I play console games is there aren't configs and everyone is using the same hardware. Changing settings is gay.

Hi, my name is hydr0, and it's been less than 1 day since I changed my config..
i find i need to make small changes each game to hit consistently though, not sure if it's just a mental thing or if perhaps the small changes really do make a difference... any ideas?
cmon its not that simple. first u have to switch to notepad, then ctrl+f to search, edit ur stuff, ctrl+s, go back to quakelive, announcer says 3,2,1 fight, exec autoexec, reposition hand, get afk-killed. when this happens 3 times, the match is lost
Hi I am Alborz, I quit playing quake. But when I was playing I sticked to 1 config since 2009-10. And used 1 sensitivity setting for almost a year, making me graduatly hit better over time and focus my game on other aspects.
Cant stop touching my fking sens these days. Have been going lower sens for years but I was never comfortable with it (despite some nice lg/rg accuracy constancy), especially rl is so sluggish.
now I am going for high sens for once because I am tired of watching vods of players who can do 360's mid strafe jump np while I barely could do a 180, and those guys never really have problems aiming with any weapon!
Watching Av3k and his goddamn beautiful 360's midjump makes me hate my stupid hands and the fact that I can never get good aim with anything lower than 26 cm/360. :(
Unfortunately,
1) I played with accel for some time but could never "master" it.
2) can't use different sens\accel dif weapons at all, even worse then 1)
Try one cl_mouseacceloffset and mousesenscap; set the offset around 0.5 to 0.7 lower than the senscap, so it will only come into effect when you 'swipe' the mouse for a quick 180 or a trendy 360.
hi my name is uncle spulk (Kappa) and i cant change my cfg a single bit cos the settings have to always be the shittiest lowest-end possible to ensure i dont get fps lags on my intel HD graphics 2000 computer but even then i get lags on recent and big maps
well my sensitivity has always been steady at a high, 14cm/360 will never change it wfm deal with it you can put dat in yo' toast
i can do 360s and i use 40cm/360 ..its a practice thing .. high sens sucks though ..with low sens u can do anything u want ..with high sens u will never be able to track as good as low sens ..
Bullshit. I can track you from any position and run around you while you work on your 40cm :P
Both styles have positive and negativ attributes like everything else :)
I would say that if you have good tracking overall you can do equally good with low or high sens.
rubbish u cant move a small distance with 22cm or so .. whats the disadvatige of lower sens ? but maybe ur right anything is possible i guess
look at stermy ..

Ye i dont know man my arm just dies when i try to play with low sens, even if i stick with it for days.Guess im not built for it :P Ofc when i say high i dont mean 5-10 cm because at that sens i think your right.
is there a way to implement the "on +attack exec cvars" script completely absent the one-frame "hiccup" (e.g. for having different crosshairs/weap settings for different weapons upon fire button press/release)?
alias cross_press "w/e crosshair you want when you press attack eg cg_drawcrosshair 7;cg_crosshairsize 38
"
alias fov_press "w/e field of view you want when you press attack eg cg_fov 103"
alias zfov_press "w/e zoom field of view you want when you press attack eg cg_zoomfov 65"
alias sense_press "w/e mouse sensitivity settings you want when you press attack eg sensitivity 2.5"
alias accel_press "w/e accel settings you want when you press attack eg cl_mouseaccel 0.08;cl_mousesenscap 4.75"
1. Change config
2. Play better
3. play worse then before
4a. change config again ->wrong
4b. keep playing
5. reach new, hingher skill level
I reason it like this: after a change, you need to adapt first. most of the time, this improves awareness and motor skills for a short time. Afterwards, you get used to the setup, movement gets more sloppy and awareness drops, as you got somewhat used, but still lack the needed fine adjustment.
