In text services and input languages change the "Default Input Language" setting to English - US. Mine was set to English US International.

and where exactly is that

right click language bar -> settings

only have spanish in there

Well it's the only way to get rid of the pesky symbol, but I'm kinda used to the native layout so it's got more drawbacks than advantages.

Pardon me. You can set the default input language to something other than English and switch ingame with alt+shift(or whatever your shortcut). I think the point is English being "English - US", not that "English US - International".

I know right, I've had this "issue" back when I played some CS and whatnot, never even figured out it's an issue.

It's funny how a non-issue becomes irritating when someone tells you it exists.

Arabic, but I don't have that issue when opening the console when arabic is on just with the UK layout.
