Florence is beautiful, I'd recommend that over Rome. It has the Uffizi gallery, which is full of some of the greatest Renaissance art including Caravaggio, Raphael and Da Vinci. It's very enjoyable to explore, by comparison Rome is very busy as a capital city and rather polluted.

I disagree, Rome over Florence, MUCH more to see. Nearly every city I went to in Italy felt like it was being suffocated by tourists and weird "foreigners" trying to sell you shit. Rome is only one where that felt acceptable.

Waited in line for two hours for the Uffizi and it took an hour and a half to go through (All though the art work was very nice.)

I stayed in Siena for 6 months, but you could go through Florence in a day. Went to Rome 3 times and I still had enough to do for a week.

Venice really sucked too. I loved Rome though, need to go back some time.

I enjoyed Croatia... cheap to fly into Split, two decent beaches with great weather & plenty chance to travel on to Dubrovnik or Sibenik if you fancy something different.

Lots of historic buildings from the medieval period plus there's the more recent war in the 90s (Sibenik was shelled).

Split had a bustling main street with loadsa restaurants at night & it's a place travelers pass through so plenty company.

you could enjoy the hospitality of the traditional roma people, engaging in their rich and colorful culture. the calm rural landscape makes an excellent place for relaxation, away from the noisy smog filled fast-living big cities - for very cheap. this one in a liftime experience is now in your reach - dont hesitate, you wont regret.

this! Really brilliant city, was there during my mini-tour last year and it was absolutely best experience, way better than Vienna, Prague and Bratislava, which I visited as well. Bratislava had my favourite beer of all times, Zlaty Bazant in a price almost beyond belief though... :]

We have zlaty bazant as well ;)
