when a person has created something and gained something from it, he automatically has advantage over a person with the same potential but who has not created something of his own yet, say a younger person. the classic scenario is the person with the most stuff is the king. the moment you decide to "soften" capitalism, you are being unfair, no? why do you want to take away hard earned monarchy from the king?

I'd opt for not adhering to the E.U. too, because things are not going quite well with the E.U. Not because the actual situation with no connection with the past, but because the wrong policy the E.U. has adopted over the years, trying to rob Eastern countries from the few (or much) they had left, and then when the things went wrong: ding-dong, we had some extra-terrestrial international recession caused by a few fuckers who no one cared to stop them because everyone is greed so they all preferred to enter the dirty scheme instead stopping these stupid bankers. You have right there examples of stupid money makers and stupid money users adopting wrong financial policies, and you have right there, as well, people without honor and without any human morale, and then you have both of them.

I don't care where all this crisis started, in the US or elsewhere. If Western people would care for staying honest more than for having money, things like prosperous banks and corporations would not stand a chance against small and medium investors, and these many small investors are the only key for economic recovery. But what do your leaders do, even now, instead? They give billions of dollars FOR FREE to corporations and big banks, just so these rotten financial monsters stay alive and so they continue their disastrous financial policy, till every bit of any successful economic activity will be put to its final termination.

People who are only for money, not understanding that there is a very big difference between wanting money and having passion for things and that creativity and producing things has bigger value than trying to have more money, so this kind of people are leaving in the past and represent the real stoppage to the idea of progress at a whole. And right now, in the West you have too many speculators pseudo-mathematicians who only calculate how they can get inside a business to intermediate things and so to be able to make out of a living from not effectively producing anything! The West right now is too full of financial parasites.

There was a documentary on VIASAT Explorer a few days ago, which revealed how the bankers in the West calculated their level of "aiding" for the 3rd world countries: how much do these countries produce? someone asked, well, we will "invest" the amount of money that will make the population in these countries pay back the amount of money equal to the quantity of the manufacture that they produce.

Until you in the West do not deal with these cocksuckers speculators (and God knows, this kind of people are your leaders and you vote for them now), so unless you do not get rid of them, I'd advocate for minimum possible contacts with your countries.

capitalism and communism are aspects of the same thing, which is the balance of the needs of an individual to the needs of the commune. in eastern europe, the tendencies are further away from individual and more towards the community, but not that much further than in the rest of europe.

There is no right ideology or governing system. They are all doomed to fail. Humanity is fucked, nothing will ever work. We should just go back to the caves or nuke each other and be done with it.

We don't really know what "true" captialism or "true" communism is, since neither have ever been enforced. What we have now are different states of the governments role in the economy, varying from country to country.

I think the question you should ask yourself is do you truly get what you deserve from the work or time you put in.

If you do a job and you get all the social services and the things you want, whether it is allocated to you from the government or earned privately, then that system could work for you.

I am from a country which has also changed it's economy and is in a process of change still... and in my country (South Africa) I am not comfortable with someone else (i.e. the government) taking and deciding what to do with my money.

Middle and upper income earners currently pay a very large amount of tax, which is then decided by the government where it should be allocated. It is for the benefit of everyone that the money is used to correct injustices from the past and supply education and medicine to the masses, however, this does not occur, and it appears that our government is falling apart in corruption.

That said my quality of life is still very good, so arguably I am getting what I deserve even if money is being taken away from me and spent badly.

Of course, the main problem with communism is that it doesn't allow for multi-party democracy, and requires huge cultural revisions. There are also the pesky problem of what to do with the people that don't agree with you.

Anyway, my personal opinion is that the government should stay out of my business, and everyone else should also stay out of my business. I have no problems with public social spending, but it should be my choice to opt in or not.

General population is about the same as in the West. They all want something for free (and think that's to a large extent possible) and don't know that their benevolent overlords don't have a fountain of money to shower on everybody.

To illustrate that point, one reporter conducted a poll in the centre of Cracow (a big city in Poland) and asked people around if they thought the government should increase miners' wages. A few hours later he made another poll and the question posed was: Would you be willing to accept a tax hike to finance miners' increased wages?

Both questions got above 90% answer rate. First one in positive, second in negative. Sure, the samples weren't identical but it's no coincidence.

communism was good, in some aspects it was very good, minorities were forgotten, and especially gipsys had to work, it was a reliable system my friend, if you wanted a car a house and to have a vacation you could have it all you didn't even need a brain for it, you just had to shut your big trap, you had a place to work, in some cases it was grantet that you'll spend your life at one solid position.
Although this was a false existance moneywise, it was done from loans mostly after the 70's but it worked. When communism was over the biggest communist simply got the biggest industrial faciliteies as presents. Now they are the most wealthy people. The goods are resettled, and good night, if you're not born into the right family you have to grind your teeth hard and work to achieve things, back than you werent so lost. Now alot of people have bought cars and xxl houses from very smal saleries and they are broke now, simply becouse they were braindead, but now they will find out the difference between the two systems, now they will loose their houses or some already did and they are going on the streets if family doesnt help, in communism it wasnt as easy to loose your existance

the situation you talking about was the last era of communism, which was exactly builded on the delusion theres some mysterious pool of money that you can literally eat up and shit out without ever depleting it. also pretty much the reason why all eastern europe is knee deep in debt and fucked for life. or at least in hungary that was sure what was going on until the collapse (gulyas-communism). for example poland took the inevitable hit earlier, the 70s 80s was much worse in that country...
what you described just cant be achieved by sitting on your ass 8 hour long all day in a job where 5-8 people do ones work, this is why the whole system collapsed. all the debts that should have been spent on improving the economy and infrastructure was spent on peoples everyday expenses (like keeping the prices low and such) to provide good enough living conditions that doesnt worth to risk by revolting for example. it was literally "laugh now, cry later..." communism as a concept in motion was rather present around the 50s and 60s, and those years were pretty fucking grim everywhere.

Capitalism is the best system, but still not perfect. One simple aspect it lacks is a top for big fortunes, so nobody becomes so rich that he can bend the rules of the system to become even more rich, upset the balance of justice, etc.

The fact that there isn't a top for big fortunes isn't a coincidence, there is always someone trying to "hack" the system (human greed).

In a always changing world, nothing we'll ever be perfect... There will be less balanced and more balanced systems, but everything will always have to change or die (and death is indeed a "change").
