This is my latest movie that I actually put a little effort into. I kind of got the hang of Wolfcam, and once everything was set up properly it was a really nice program to use. Props to Brugal for making such a tool.

- nice and calming music
- good sync to content (tho not much done here)
- good config and no overdone editing
- everything 1st person (tho i dont mind one or two exceptions)

on the neg site:
- too short (if you do it short why not just cut the intro/outro scene and somehow include it as a running text in fragscenes or smth?)
- some very average filler frags like the scene starting at 2:35

ill give it a 7/10. imo you should put abit more effort into how to handle the intro/outro and maybe do something about the kinda chaotic map back and forth switch in your scenes (dont know what tho =)

- I can't really stand hard music or dubstep in movies. It's too overdone.
- I tried to make it flow with the music
- I've learned from sooooo many bad (but could have been good) movies
- Honestly, I just didn't want to learn camera paths, haha.
- The day/night scenes were part of a story, if that was conveyed.
- Yeah, I didn't have many frags that weren't already used in other movies (Goldfish, Showdown 2, etc.) and I don't like recycling.

Thanks for your critique, but that was sort of what I was aiming for, that opposing mood. I'll work on my transitions though.

Love it!
That soundtrack with some slow parts creates a great atmosphere. Simple, but nice movie. Some syncing' and a bit more exciting in-outro needed from my pov. Create more in that style!

majority of people who visit ESR don't go further then the news page that's why I wanted it majored :) 2k+ views in under half a week, and you're pointing out ESR ratings (lol)

I'm not saying the video is even close to the best quake video ever made, but times are slow on here and we haven't made a frag movie since the creation of 4sg, it was kind of a big deal for me

I also think they are right and I don't see reason to filter out movies that are not so perfect. There is not so many new movies released every day. So 2-3 news a week about movie even if it's only average is not harming anyone. Let users decide if they want to watch it or not basing on the rating.

More content from community is always better than nothing unless it's really a crap made for lulz. Especially that nowadays there is nothing special going on in the quake community, what makes ESR news page unattractive.

Also, ESR doesn't really have a "boss"... It's more an aggregation of more or less active admins.

so whys a movie thats rated 7 majored? 7 on esr is usually a very very generic movie with nothing exceptional in it. i dont think either this movie or the 4sg movie deserves to get majored. both are vanilla quake movies of which we've seen hundreds over the years.

honestly movies shouldnt get majored unless theyre rated 9 or higher (if u go by rating at all which i think is stupid anyway).

Most movies aren't even seen until they're majored, though. I've looked through the movie section and have found many to be enjoyable, but were never majored or had a 6-7 rating.

for what it was (a short movie just showing a few frags, nothing super aspirational) it was very well done. music was great and very fitting, reminds me of dark water by cop which i love.

The last one was what I was aiming for. People can say what they want about the quality of the frags, but, I purposely chose ones that weren't always over-the-top or really nooby. It's that middle ground, along with a soothing track, that I was trying to accomplish. I think I did that part pretty well.

I added the CFG file and the scripts used in the movie. As long as you put everything where it goes normally, you should be able to get the rail and plasma effects shown in the movie.

As a side note, these are all scripts that are available to the public. I did not steal or discredit anyone, just to clarify.

I liked it for the most part. I think the music was maybe a bit too elevator-y, but enjoyable nonetheless. I'm all for experimenting and I'd rather listen to this than listen to yet another dubstep song. Frags were ok, editing was good.

rushhh is right though you should consider encoding in x264 next time its the easiest and best way nowadays.

Another thing, please remove screendamage (the red that pops up when you get hit), it's extremely disturbing imo.
