It's also not my alltime fav like the better wcp maps, but we have it at least, and the map looks really good.
I also like it for the two powerups, imo it adds an unique uncertainty into the metagame.

btw, I had screenshots from the Q3 map, so it's not the QL version:P

It's really nothing, I just added colors to the walls, I used the scene to experiment with the rendering of particles and volume shaders, not to make something nice... but thanks again, cheers:)

The problem is that the kid takes up my time from 7am to 10pm 24/5, (I only had this weekend free until this afternoon), so dunno maybe next weekend, but sometimes I also have usable internet (a rare gift:D), and I like to play online in those lucky moments.. so we will see... but I will try to do something for you next time, campgrounds seems like a good canditate to fill it up with water, the next thing I want ot experiment with;)

That's a good pov, I was originally thinking quad room, but don't let me influence you.

I choosed this because there are lot of "empty" space on both sides for the icons, but I don't like it very much tbh, so maybe I will do quadroom instead..

I already down with the materials, but it looks really shit tbh, I have a utility which shows the RGB values for the center of the screen, I walk all over the map with vertexlight 1 and gamma 1 and write down every color, just like I did with the wcp1 flagroom.
I really want to make it look like the original as much as possible, but this map looks really horrible with this colors even if the lighting will make a huge difference. I spent a lot of time with finetuning the thing, no use:(
I'm gonna need to make a brand new material set for this if I want to keep the the '"picmip 10" style, perhaps I sample the colors with picmip 0, thats more greyish.

School for the kid will start this Wednesday, so I can only work 1-2 hours on this again on Wednesday-Friday late evenings.. I think it will be ready next weekend, if it will look really bad, I will do ztn instead:P.

Btw, I was wondering how stupid is that I rendered out a picture where the shadows and color transitions are the main "points", and just posted it for other gamers where most of the people probably have screens with TN-panels:( I'll take that into consideration next time:)

That's because the quake 3 and quake 4 versions are different.
I took a screengrab from the quake 3 version, yours is based on quake 4, which has different roof design.

No, I was not asking for textures. I have a bad feeling what you are trying to imply here, but that's just bad intention, nothing else.
That was the time when I built the geometry, and - because of curiosity about the nice art- I was asking for the paintings on the walls, if somebody knew who made them.
Since that day, (when I had free time) I was experimenting with various shaders and things like that, so I basically used the geometry as a test scene for learning a new renderer engine what I never used before. But that looked nothing like the image above.

I don't know what version of the map it is, its japanese castles by G1zmo for quake 3. Should be simple to find.

yea, I remember now, I was playing this version in the early q3 days, its like the Samurai Castles version in Q2.. it was so long ago:)

Yea, both are orangish (sorry but I like orange:P) and there are ambient occlusion as well on both, not just lightmaps only, like in Q3/QL.

This was the first, and didn't turn out very good:(, I hope the next one will be better. Thanks anyway:)
