I am not sure if theres any point with trials for the uk team as the scene is that small. As far as playing goes i am pretty sure your experience would be welcomed whoever ends up the captain.

Up to the new captain, personally im in favour of trials.

It couldnt hurt i guess but i am not sure we'd unearth the next kilem, the uk scene just doesn't have the active player base anymore, not like it used to.

I know of one swede that has applied for the captain spot for team sweden (no its not me), did he do something wrong or is it just not updated yet? (he applied yesterday or the day before that afaik)

Hm, we haven't received anything from Sweden. It could be that he wrote a general support to the EU section, then it should be forwarded to us soon.

If you apply, make you sure you pick "Europe Quake Live" in the section part.

As much as I like TDM and the frag fest, I think CTF is way better to spectate, since there actually IS something to follow. As for TDM, it looks like all players do kinda the same, but CTF is easier to get into (from a spectator's point of view).

But I still stand my opinion, that CTF is easier to get into Quake, as the goal is easier to grasp. It kinda has more of a sports character than TDM. To break it down very simply: you could even compare it to football, where one guy has the ball and everyone's chasing him.

I just remembered my friends' reactions on a small LAN party when I watched a Q3 stream back in 2002 or so and it was a CTF match. They instantly got the game principles and compared it to football.

thats a weird assumption, the majority of voters are not potential nc players so why would they not vote for what they want to see?

the majority of viewers of a quake stream are going to be quake players anyway.
and the goal of tdm is not any harder to grasp, its killing your opponent more often than they kill you.

People don't realize posting through a web proxy breaks replying (there's a workaround tho, just requires some extra iq).

Last 3 days to apply as team captain... we are still missing some major countries like PL, PT, IT and NL.

PT doesn't have enough players decent enough to play QL at high-tdm level, so I won't step up and cap this time, i doubt anyone else will :/
