Good initiative.

I think the most important thing is to put content that matters to the veteran community first, to keep the interest alive. That include mainly the tons of guides and references to various aspects o the game.

There is then a big amount of corollary information, important for people that do not know the game much. Starting with that may simply be too much of an effort, and in the end those are things not relevant for the people that are supposed to read and write the content.

I think it should just be for QuakeLive. There's already a QW wiki, and the other Quakes don't matter.

Some page ideas to get started:

- Config info
- Custom hud info
- All the maps with level shots, overviews and item info.
- Site mod page/greasemonkey scripts
- Collection of links
- Communities, official sites, guides, videos, irc, etc.
- Movie making
- Items page detailing what everything does
- game modes, and how to play them, basics and intermediate stuff to give new players a boots on how things are done.
- movement tricks and types of movement possible
- notable clans and players
- an unsorted information page that includes stuff with no place yet, but might fit somewhere nice down the road, should be checked often.

Thats all that I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there's much more to write.

i agree with clownfart here, the other quakes do not have any growth or real activity like quake live does, and the people still playing them are veterans and already know or have this kind of information at hand.

In the quake live arenas (maps) section they have an upcoming maps list. Anyone know if its correct and if so, how do they know?

Activity? Not quite. Growth? Pretty sure the people still playing any of the other Quakes will continue to do so, whereas QL is losing players.

themuffinman86 should get in on this, since he has his console guide. yakumo would also be a big help since he knows a lot... theyre some of the most knowledgeable people i know (quake live-wise), and would add a lot to this page.

i think people rather want a gameplay guide, not help with console commands although that would probably be a good addition at some point.

how do you know he's that knowledgeable? i've read his "guide" on the ql forums and i disagree on some points, others have been discussed much more thorough on esreality. am i missing something?

he has answers to a lot of questions. i dont think hes very good with the physics or anything, but technical stuff he knows a lot about.

waste of time. wait for a quakelike game that actually has a chance of surviving past 2 years. ql is already dead

there should be a reasonable license for the content like bsd or cc-by-sa and a possibilty to dump the database.
