I'd like to add if there's more than 3 teams per nation signing up we will use the "First come, first serve" basis.

13 april in Poland is a "wet monday". Not sure this holiday is international. Basicly its abut pour each other with water :D Now I think its pretty stupid, but as youngster it was pretty fun. All day witch bucket of water and hunting girls down on the streets :DDD

In Skandinavia probably its unknown for common, couse it could be dangerous for life with this weather :D

i think having it nations instead of just regular *play with whoever* serves no purpose. it only hinders the possibility of more people playing in an already small community, and you will just see a swe-rape again. i'm sorry to say i won't be signing up at least :{. hf

True i have been playing 2v2 with myt for years now and i can't play with him in the first 2v2 tournament for years? bullshit. 2v2 nations cup is just weird. If ppl really want to play with someone in their nations they'll just do it.
And one other thing, 3 teams for 1 country will really limit some countries like polaks who play so much 2v2 in their own servers. This can be alot better without such limitations. And i know we all want to see ddk+pekka combo just let it be :)

Maybe someday some1 will make a regular 2v2 cup, but now i want it to be nation based. Noone is forceing you to play, so dont if you dont want to. About that possibility shit, just dont fucking whine and find a partner from your nation, it's not hard, if only you are not living living in lithuania. Even cyprus got a team.
About poland: well, they can make a qualification round, as it's going to be done in russia.

You know, i wasnt really waiting for complains about team limitations, i was waiting for a mappool whine. Hearing something like: "oh man i cant play with my friend from japan => i'm not goin to attend" was surprising and sounded stupid for me and didint make any sense.

The mappool whine would come as soon as you changed the nation rule.
You know, the stuff that is bugging ppl the most is coming first on the whine list, if that is gone, the next biggest thing will be whined about. :P

well if you want map pool whine, i can't believe you leave cpm16 in which is agreed by pretty much everyone to be the worst 2v2 map, and then take ztn out, one of the most popular.

but uh, read what sanchi said, it's exactly the same for me... you can't just force people to play with someone from their nation, some weird purist shit right there =). you say it doesn't make sense to you, well it doesn't make sense to me to learn a new partner for no apparent reason (especially in such a TINY community) - you still haven't said why you chose it to be a "nation" cup.

That being said, this is a fairly pathetic tournament in terms of the rules, rivaling qcon for its arbitrariness. All in all something to just avoid.

This is yet another problem with this tourney. This is not some Islamic dictatorship where you can tell people what they are allowed to and not allowed to say. People have a right to voice their opinions on ESR (yes even Vedic), and you have no right to deny them that.

The fact that you are not using any logical arguments to defend your choices even further cements this as a case of a four year old child sticking their fingers in their ears and saying "lalalalalala i can't hear you lalalalalala" because you don't like what people are saying. You'd be much better served taking your own advice, and just not reading the criticisms if you're unable to handle them.

In the end, though, you'll do what you want. If you can't tell the difference between people honestly giving you advice on how to run a tourney, and people just being jackasses, you should look into fixing that problem. In the meantime, just run the tournament however you want, and the people who want to play, will, and those who don't, won't.

yeah i can find a teammate or two from turkey but as you didn't understand it was not my point. Unlike 4v4 or ctf or especially ntf, 2v2 is a "Pal" thing. Every 2v2 player in the community has a "Pal" he has played for years and most are not from the same country. The whine about the nations thing you didn't foresee was because your lack of 2v2 community and the fact that you haven't been playing 2v2 outside your circle i guess. Good job organising aiming for players to have less fun than it can actually be.
