Hello,

I have read Sujoys mousescore 2007 article and i agree with what he wrote about the mx518, that left-handers will look enviously at the people using the mx518, and i think its time that somebody does something about it.

There is a huge demand for a left handed ergonomic gaming mouse, such as the mx518. I have looked at a lot of forum threads all over the web and there are people asking about left handed ergonomic gaming mice, people even think that it is discriminating that there are only right handed ergonomic mices. The only mice for the left handed users are the ones that can be used both by left and right handers and are usually very small and narrow like the razer mice. There are even right handed people that use the mouse with their left hands.

2005 when the G5 and the G7 was released there was an interview with a product-marketing manager from logitech: http://www.techspot.com/news/18332-Logite..

In that interview there was a question about a left handed logitech gaming mouse, there has to be a demand, people wondering about it for such a question to be included in the interview. Two years later the demand has grown immensely and left handed gamers all over the world are wondering/demanding when logitech or others will be releasing a mouse for us.

The gaming scene is exploding. E-sports is slowly growing to gain the same status as any athletics or live action sport. There is, however, one thing that keeps the entire e-athletics scene from reaching it's full potential.

Ice-Hockey and golf are very fair sports. The reason is not their completely balanced rules, or completely skill based game-play. It is simply the choice players have: Left handed or right. Driving ranges are built for both right-handed and left-handed players. This leads to everyone being able to play the game to their full potential.

Logitech are the leading creators of gaming gear. Legendary mice like the MX-518 is still in demand, being the general choice over laser mice, even though it is an optical mouse. Left handed gamers are screaming for a larger selection of left-hand-friendly Logitech products, and especially the 518.

Instead, we find ourselves using inferior mice (which also don't fit well for those with larger hands). Logitechs mice are one size fits all, to create left handed models of all mice would be hugely appreciated, and would allow the industry to grow.

I understand it is a big step to take in mass-producing mice of this kind, so why not make it an option to custom make the models for left-handed players? Guitars have that option, and a gamer needs his mouse like Malmsteen needs his incredibly modded Stratocaster.

I posted this column to get this problem out in the open. Which would make logitech aware of the situation, that there actually is a demand for a ergonomic left handed gaming mouse and include it in their product line.

Kind Regards,

Magnus Ohlsson
