Earlier this week, many strong Darkside-RTCW players defected to the new Clan Kapitol RTCW division. Included in this move were founders Valdez and Shaftian, incidently just one day after a Cached interview discussing how solid their team was.
As a result, Darkside-RTCW found themselves without the motivation to continue and announced their disbanding earlier today.
Update: Shortly afterwards, they revoked the announcement. When asked about it, nobody on the team really seemed to know what is going on. Finally, D|S-best informed me the squad is still active. Clearly there is confusion for the future of D|S-RTCW.
Darkside was considered the #1 RTCW team in the United States, having won multiple tournaments including the OGL's Battle on the Beachhead.
Both teams can be found in #darkside and #ck on irc.enterthegame.com.
