Yesterday we saw the ignorance and close mindedness of the head of the Female Player Alliance (FPA). Believing she was liberal thinking with liberal views she then went on to ignore any kind of negative response irrespective of whether the comments included reasoning or not.

Comments from across different continents and genders showed dismay for the views expressed in the column, some solely in an attempt to encourage flame, others to try and get a debate going. But alas, the spokesperson of the FPA and author of the column, Lilie, decided to place her hands over her eyes and shout "not listening!"

She speaks of Quake 3 with her head held high, not realising the hypocrisy in that exclamation as the models are fashioned in a similar style to the booth babes she so aggressively despises (the outfits not the girls). Aren't these models also demeaning to women and should therefore not be encouraged?

The one which is kind of understandable is the unhappiness towards the blonde or brunette question but the majority of females would just throw that aside as what it was, a bit of harmless fun.

Something she does reasonably well in her column is misguiding (replace with lying as you see fit) people into thinking certain things happened. The first misguidance is below:
"Yet in 2005 when the Miss Quakecon all female tournament concluded, the girls that won did not have the Quakecon Girls, whom were present at the event, to take them onto the stage but instead they had some of the id Software developers up there. So someone understands that the Quakecon Girls make female gamers feel uncomfortable."
They winners did not complain about being uncomfortable, it was simply as i said it may have been where they wanted a male to award a prize to a female and vice versa.

The other is a statement where she tries to portray female gamers of being unable to think rationally and see that a statement given may just have been in good fun.
"I was not alone in my emotion either, as several women walked away in disgust, several more just stood in shock, many not really sure what to do and so it continued through out the entire convention this way."
It baffles me that of all the females at the event none of them would be able to see a blondes or brunettes comment as a bit of harmless fun.

And following her boycott of ESR she has decided to further alienate herself and her company from debate on the topic by deleting my profile from their website.

This column was not intended on starting a debate with Lilie as she won't reply; nor was it intended on trying to make her see the hypocrisies mentioned or the pointlessness in having goals such as female models in a first person environment. It was aimed at the other members of the FPA because like the children of Shirley Phelps-Roper, i don't think they really agree with the comments of their mother and could easily come to realise the truth.
