Well that's simple to me :

1 - You are playing your game for fun and those guyz are close friends of yours : stick with them and train them.

2 - You play in a more serious level at your game and want to be known as a famous player : leave your clan and join another clan that is more fitable with your achievement.

i agree - u have to answer urself wich point is for u :P, but before that asnwer - what i want to play - duel or tdm, if tdm look at these point, if duel - there is no metter about clan :]

some clans dont want their members to play in more than one clan at the same time.

why not take on a real sport like boxing where you fight some scrawny 150lb black dudes? I watched it this morning and I laughed my ass off, that would be an easy sport to become proficient in and make me feel better about myself than I already do.

i left a friendsclan once, i regret it in one way, but in another way im happy because i got to play with new people, and as you sure know of, clans die, so when i got these new friends i got into new clans and new people.


it sure is a dilemma

I have a "clan" consisting of only irl friends, we did play alot before... like qw, q2, q3, bw and wc3. But me and another guy was the only ones who improved our game (in quake) to that point that we could end up owning the rest of the clan just the two of us and the other guys really couldn't catch up in skills. So what happend was that the entire clan stopped playing and stopped signing up for tournaments and leagues, so now everyone is playing their own games in different clans. Thing is that, let's say a big, sponsored multigaming would had asked me about joining them I would have decline and stick with my friends, cause really... playing with your friends, all sitting in the same room etc is way more fun than just having that fat clantag in your nick.

:) Murahs right, it really depends on what your main goal is, if you want to be a top "pro" player, then its probably a good idea to go with a team with members who have the time and will to train/improve.

Tough choice though, if its something like 1on1 then a clan isnt that important, so might aswell stay with your friends, but if its team your interested in then ... can still keep clan friends after you leave.

Just do what you feel is right!:D

I dont consider real friends people that I meet over the internet :| , once the game is gone they are gone to..

The real fun is making lan's and other stuff with your old friends :-)

Well it depends, i have some people i have known online through many games for years and years, some of who i have met before, and some that i know in real life and play online with, depends:).

but as i said you can still keep friendsa after you leave a clan

btw i think the realy good idea is beeing in 2 clans. In one clan u play tdm with ur friends (same language) and in second u play only duels, and this can be sponsored team, becouse sponsor wants to show his t-shirts on many tournamnets, and we will create teams with preety good duelers, it is realy cool, for example on wcg can go only 1-2 (sometimes 3) players from 1 game and then from 1 clan will go more than 1-2 duelers, becouse this clan has players from all europe. Almost everyone player can speak english (ok... but everyone can translate english) so what is the border? , after that u can make clan wars like in warcraft, 2 duels and 1 tdm (or smth), and u wont ever hear - omg i am dueler ! i cant play tdm. SO MAKE DUEL DIVISION IN UR CLAN!!!!


P.S. strong - do u know guy b100.death ? he doesnt play in realy good clan, he plays all the time in one clan....

Well it depends, I happened to be in clans with good friends but they weren't as motivated as me.
It wasn't even a problem of skill, I'm not that good and some of them really were but they simply played for fun without trying too hard, sometimes the clan was barely active and we'd struggle to get enough players for a game.

I simply explained to them I wanted a team in which there'd be more motivation, more activity, and left to a more motivated team and kept good relations with my old clan. I even play lots of LANs with them since most of us live in the same area.
I never had a problem with playing with guys not as strong as me, as long as there was motivation. I consider Q3 as a competitive activity, as well as when I played sports in clubs and participated into competitions, and I appreciate some motivation from my mates.
If they are 3 times worse than I am they will improve if they train, and a team game is not all about individual skills only after all.

This is the only thing you have to consider imo : do you have the same objectives as they do ?
If they're happy with just random mindless public servers fragging, maybe it's a problem for you if you want something more, and thus you're entitled to leave them and try to find a more motivated team.
If they are motivated, you should give them a chance to improve, provided they do try to.

Staying with them just because they're friends will be an error if you don't have the same objectives anymore, it could even make you angry at them because of games beeing lost stupidly and it'd be kinda stupid to fuck your relation up just for a game.
And to be honest, some of the best friends I have, I met them on the internet, even if I can't always see them IRL often. :)

If you any 'respect' for your clan mates then keep it real and stay in the clan.

sometimes you've got to move on in live. Get a better clan, if they they dont accept your decision they are not real friends.

btw. if you dont care about getting better stick with the clan.
