had a massive one when i woke up earlier, but is aite now.

basically i normally do the following:

1) drink water/juice/gatorade - normally like 3litres+ or something ridiculous
2) vitamins
3) eat something with a fair amount of salt in it
4) ibuprofen (not paracetemol)

gotta go get ready to go out again now... its a hard life but someones has to do it

1) Don't drink over 3 litres, there is such a thing as water poisening:P

3) Salt is the last thing you need, alcohol dehydrates you, salt pretty much does the same.

4) Not sure if ibuprofen and alcohol mix very well, but ibuprofen by itself is quite bad, people underestimate it.
At least I don't like to take ibuprofen anymore because I noticed it made me a bit slower in general.

to loveless: eat a banana and drink a few cups of water, 3 or so.

edit: Should add, I've never been hungover and I don't even drink but, the water thing is obvious and you just need some food in your stomach, banana's just pwn.

3L of water is what a grown male "should" (1.5L is enough ) drink every day so since your dehydrated when u have a hangover u should probably drink even more.

3 liters of water won't kill any healthy adult. as a matter of fact, i drank about 2.5 gallons (~10 liters) in roughly 4 hours yesterday morning beginning around 5am. i continued with a slightly more tame regimen throughout the remainder of the day. your body gives you signs, ie vomiting, when you're approaching overconsumption, just like any other orally ingested substance (ie alcohol, medicines, or food).

also, salt, in moderate doses, actually encourages water retention. it's why soldiers are often given sodium tablets prior to long "ruck marches" and why saltwater iv's exist for dehydrated patients.

as for ibuprofen, it's not going to help settle that stomach. don't bother.

In extreme cases even that is not enough - road/construction worker in sunny day can sweat as much as 12 litres away.

when I get drunk (like alot these time), i take before going to bed, 1gram of paracetamol, and B6 vitamins.
And first thing i do in the morning: druken poo and i drink water or orange juice alot like 1 or 2 litters and i go back to sleep :>

just be happy you don't have to go to work. we went out thursday, got trashed and had to go to work on friday morning :/

lots of juice/water and a nice greasy breakfast always works for me. apparently thats not actually good for a hangover though, so you could try taking vitamins and eating lots of nutritious food

This guy has it right. Most of you are... just.. wow. MILK!? You serious, milk curdles. With all of the stomach acid reproducing at such a rate as to replenish what your body lost while puking, milk is the worst possible choice.

A. Water. If you didn't drink water when you were drinking alcohol the night before, the next day is a good place to start. Gatorade is great too. Replenishing electorates n all.

B. Something greasy. Soaks up some of the acids in there, and will settle your stomach, slightly.

C. Vitamins.

D. Rest.

But like I said, if you drink water in between drinks when you're getting trashed, you should be fine the next day.

milk might be bad when you did throw up, but if you didn't not and you had several drinks with coke and therefore acids in them milk actually helps.

the konterbier-strategie says you should drink whatever you had last before passing out. if you had a beer you can add some salt too. sounds disgusting, but some people say it works ;p

we have a similar one over called 'concrete'. you're supposed to have a stiff drink like vodka or rakija right after you've woken up, supposedly works best for beer hangover. preached by the elders, never felt like trying it tho :)

noone really likes alcohol first thing in the morning.

But it helps, especially if you want to go out in the evening.
I recommend "Alster" though. It's beer with sprite.

However, I only ever do it on festivals or on vacations / weekend trips with friends.

cause alcohol consumption hurts the absorption of vitamins.

Energy drink, take a shit, eat something with bread, some water/juice/gatorade and i'm set.

Can't help you with what to do after throwing up, cause that only happens to me very rarely and then with a bad THC + alcohol combination.

But you should get ued to hangovers because in my experience it gets worse with age :(

What you should do is drink some water on the side during the evening. Then drink a lot of water before going to bed. I usually take a "fizzy tablet" with magnesium on the evening, other take one aspirin.

The in the morning drink lots as other said and besides water I either drink:

Coke, when I did not have anything with coke in the evening
Milk, if I did have something with coke.

And ast but not least as probably everyone knows: Eat greasy food before the evening and as soon as you can manage afterwards and salty things during the evenings. (Because the salt gets flushed out when you piss out those liters of beer)


And the very best thing to do is sports. it's a bitch to get yourself up to do it and you suck at it but afterwards the hangover is gone.
I can recommend jogging in the rain or squash (you can hit some pretty epic balls :P). But everything that is exhausting should work :)

while drinking try to eat something, i once drunk vodka with a russian and we eat ham after every glass. At the end i couldnt stand any longer, went to bed and had no headache at all :)

According to brainiac, eat a good breakfast(english). Taking vitamins only helps a tiny bit for the hangover feel. If you drink something alcoholic again in the morning you will feel good because your systems starts to deal with the 'easy' parts of the alcohol and disregards the tricky parts it was busy with(the reason for the shit feeling), but when you stop it will again deal with the 'tricky' parts of the alcohol that is not easily absorbed in the body.

I always drink 3-4 litres of water before going to bed after getting pissed. Sure it means i wake up every hour needing a piss but I don't get hangovers.

usuallly i eat and drink something before i got to bed.. it seems to help alot.. but sometimes you just feel like crap in the morning, i just try to eat good stuff than but that doesnt always works.

best thing against a hang over is, when you are really wasted,befor you go to bed, eat something really fatty mcdonalds like thing.. you wont notice a thing the next morning

Before would be the ideal. To my understanding the significance of the fat is in the digestion - fat is slow to digest and works as a sort of 'traffic jam', slowing down the absorption of ethanol.
