The question is answered! I wanna get myself one of those and test it out, but as for a ball mouse I would much rather get one of those old mitsumi mice!! they pwn! Unfortuanately my old one is serial and it's totally fucked up now, but it's still the best mouse I ever owned, i love it...
The reason why z4 can actually play on a ball mouse well or even better is his high sens, because he doesn't have to pick up the mouse that much when he aims or takes a shot, it doesn't really matter if he uses an optical or not. Stupid me actually increased my sens when I got an optical, and now I don't really need an optical anymore (although not having to clean it is just too cool)
Ahh, but you see I added that he doesn't have to pick up his mouse when taking a shot, the deviation of a ball at high sens is quite minimal, and I think he uses the 0.05 accel to fix that as well, I found flicking on a negative -0.05 accel on an optical quite nice, probably because I'm still used to a ball mouse.
Unfortuanately high sens players will always suffer from having weak lg, but having the ability to turn fast and have the sickest flicks :)
dunno how a dkt pad is, my one (it's a custom made ndc pad from 2 years back) gets affected by moisture in the air, which SUCKS! other than that it's cool. I'm getting a new one though, which is just awesome, almost everyone in south africa is using it now, of course I haven't seen the quality of overseas mouse pads (apart from an allsop (which 0wns), a everglide and an icemat)
Was thinking of going back to it, very tempting, but the buttons are hard to press and I can't move it at "lightning" speed (I move the mouse very, very fast) and it fucks up when you move it too fast.
actually, having high sens means you have to have the mice in a particular place, its not the same if were u have the mice on your pad, a part of the feeling imo...
Meaning he should pick it up quite often.
Even at high sens the perpetual motion of the mouse ball once lifted from the mouse mat is minute, as gravity acting on the ball once lifted from the mouse mat pulls it down against the mouse ball retainer, which causes friction on the ball and stops it.
This all taking place in well under a 10th of a second, so claiming that you would notice this while playing is laughable…
Suppose it will depend on the mouse, my old one if I moved it fast enough and lifted the mouse it would spin like 90 degrees, it was fucking smooth though...
when i had my ball mouse i had to use a higher sens since the mouse tended to skip sometimes at fast movement with low sens (exactly like the early opticals). after experimenting with opticals i noticed they were much steadier with hitscan weapons, especially shaft. on the other hand i liked to flick around more with the ball.
the perpetual motion of the mouse ball after leaving the surface, is minute. and trust me when i say you wouldn't be able to notice the effect due to fiction stopped the ball from continue to spin....
i'm guessing you're talking to me, well I think settings can help, but being used to it helps more, I think the optimal playing sens for q3 would be low sens with accel, since you can aim well with every weapon like that (cooller, unkind, lexer). ZeRo4 just optimises what he's good with, rail and rockets, the rest comes down to how you actually play the game, and no amount of settings will change that.
immo, mouse means shit, as long as it tracks ok and it is clean with a good enough surface for the mouse, set it so it feels right for you and practice, nothing more nothing less.
whats next, the angle of the keyboard concerning the relaxation of the muscles?
I have the same mouse pad as ZeRo4. Or, ZeRo4 has the same mouse pad as me. It's all a matter of perspective you see. Like, which came first, the chicken or the egg? Think about it.. freaky huh?
Yes, his lg is weak compared to other pro's, in fact most people that are considered good players. Compare his lg to other americans like socrates and chaoticz, it's easy to spot.
High sens would be anything over say, 8, lets say 12cm/360 degrees. This has a different meaning to low sens accel though, since you could probably turn the same if not faster as a high sens player, but would still be able to aim with precision. Problem with accel is it becomes harder to do long range flicks, and track people with rockets smoothly. There are exceptions to every rule though, so don't take my words as law.
You're right. He probably just uses the mouse so he can always have the excuse if he loses. At least, the excuse in his own mind. It's like a safety net for him. He feels secure playing, because even if he loses, it's because of the mouse. No excuses if he uses something equal. It's ok, little ZeRo4; you'll always be a Zero in my book.
If he really does use the mouse for such a silly thing, I wouldn't guess it makes a difference. I mean hey, all it takes is dropping the bar one time without a safety net and then.... splat.
Damnit... why do I keep getting drawn into these things?
I'm saying how playing with 60ms compared to 5ms is related to playing on an old ball mouse compared to a new 800dpi optical mouse. It's like driving a station wagon instead of a sports car. Sure, Schumacher would beat us all in a station wagon, but he'd do a lot better in a sports car.
When I look at his gaming dossier I would be inclined to trust him on mice rather than you (especially that my experiences are similar; especially considering what mouse Cooller uses). I hope you can understand my standpoint :p.
I see... the pictures aren't up right now. In this very image gallery, there's a picture of Cooller with an mx500. Some people commented on the page, but no picture right now.
Normally, I don't address narrow-mindedness, but in your case, i'll explain my true motives...... - I just want him to get a new mouse, cause he'll be a better player.
As far as you or I know, i'm right about why he uses the one he has now. If I was right, you would be the one talking out of your ass. Because of this fact, your entire statement is purely hypocritical. And don't call me pumpkin.
WTF is that a ball mouse or the intelli 1.1
