It has serious tactical advantages, on campgrounds (harder to rail for example) and grimdungeons (I have successfully gone up the jump pad with BS without getting caught out by QD) etc.

I figured we havn't seen it a lot in duel because there aren't a lot of high jump pads in the current map pool that leave you exposed for a long time. I would think the pros knows about it? I remember seeing Cooller doing it 2v2 atleast..

yeah definitely. I sometimes rj from ya to lg ammo to get out in a hurry but thats way faster. idk if that jump was common knowledge or not but it looks useful anyway

when someone goes up the dm6 jumppad he always hits the top to the left and right to get to the ground faster, just to cut some time, not only to avoid shots. the same can be done in many situations with this, it is usefull like this aswell.
sure it will not always be a big advantage but taking every small advantage is desirable, isnt it?

It changes quite a lot, actually. Not sure about top tier duel, but i avoided certain death and made kills i wouldn't have made otherwise thanks to this trick in ca. Pretty sure top players could utilise this in a gamechanging manner.

easier to shoot a rocket into the jumppad wall imo

Sure it's "easier", but is it as effective? On dm6 ya pad, for example, you can:

1) Hop on the pad normally without rocket boost or using the clipping trick - you can get railed from 1st floor, pillars and ra corridor, eat a rocket while in the tube or raped with lg from any of the pillars.

2) Boost the jump up from the bottom, alter the trajectory either left, right or backwards towards the ra corridor midway up - you'll probably not get lg raped or hit with a rocket, but you'll almost certainly get railed because you'll spend a considerable amount of time in the air.

3) Hit a rocket near the top to lower your exit altitude. It has similar benefits to the clipping trick, however *you are forced to have rl out when you exit the tube, and will waste aiming time while doing the shot* and it's hard to perfectly control the end result.

4) Use the clipping trick. Now, most people will expect you (if they know you know they're up, camping) to rocket boost up, avoid the pad and fuck off or look for a lucky rocket or a sneak rail, or just go up like an idiot and die. Using the clipping trick you can go up with any weapon you want, and positiong yourself for the shot before you actually exit the tube, surprise your opponent who will not expect this and will ready his aim above the exit point AND avoid any rails/lg from the 1st floor (at least when you leave the tube center and left, you'll probably be visible enough for a clean hit if you go right).

The hardest thing to do is actually remember you can do it. I'm actively trying to integrate it into my game plan and it's working out good so far.

I really think it's a neat little thing to have, anything that gives more dimensions to the gameplay is good, no?

going up a jumppad into an enemy is very risky anyways, because he can simply plant a rocket at the exit and totally fuck up whatever clever trick you had. i'm more likely to run in that situation. also, rocket blasts give you a varied height, whereas the clipping trick always gives you the same results.

imo it's only really useful for avoiding excessive float time on jumppads that would otherwise launch you too high

2 reasons :
a. people are too retarded to figure it out 6 months after it's been introduced
b.jumppads have "holes" midway and you'll smack your head there, causing you to drop down, if you happen to stick too close to the tubes, which can happen quite often when you're in a hurry.

I always do this, its faster and trolls ppl looking for an easy shot.

If someone is waiting at the top of a jump pad with LG and I do this they usually start shooting over my head. :D

is it useful? not at all, or at least very rarely in a way that will save you from getting killed (for example in ztn's jumppads, in which almost no one fights)).

and it was extensively featured in the double jumping movie from some months ago, in which btw noctis had some part with the rocket jump in campgrounds from RA to rail

not like the jumpsound makes any difference once the opponent hears the jumppad sound, which he hears even if you don't do such jumps

It's hard to integrate it in my own playstyle, i keep forgetting i can use it to troll jumppad lg campers. :/

Been using this constantly, but never when it's actualy useful. The thing is I only remember to do it when I'm facing the jump pad wall, but when an enemy is below looking to shaft/rail me, I'm typically facing him, and I forget to press jump again :/
