The Chief Cup Supervisors from
ClanBase has made
a statement that they will have a zero tolerance policy regarding rules.
In the past clans misused a lot of the rules, especially about with rescheduling and late arrivals. This frustrated the supervisors but also several coverage partners a lot. To combat this, the Cup Supervisors of ClanBase has been informed to be extreme strict in forcing the rules.

After receiving a lot of feedback from our Coverage Partners in previous seasons it seems that they are becoming increasingly frustrated trying to deliver a professional style service in an amateur environment. We're repeatedly told that after organising Shoutcast/Gaming TV Coverage to matches they find very often these matches are either delayed or rescheduled when they shouldn't be. This mirrors the opinions of the ClanBase Management that online gaming can only grow if it's participants behaviour changes for the better.
To counter this we will be implementing a much stricter global policy on the application of our cup rules, especially when it comes to scheduling and attending your matches. No longer will we find it acceptable for clans to rearrange matches without going by the rules or informing the Cup Supervisors. Neither will we allow clans to turn up late and delay matches way beyond the start time. In addition to this we will also be taking an increasingly dim view of abusive behaviour and language before, during and after matches be it to your opponent, Supervisors, Referees or spectators.
By the same token we expect the behaviour of our Referees and Supervisors to be exemplary. As always if you feel a wrong decision has been made it is your right to contact the appropriate person about it, for more information check out the Cup Rules. In this situation you should always keep calm and make it clear what the issue is, without resorting to insults. However right you are, if you state your case in an aggressive and abusive manner you risk it being ignored or even receiving punishment for you and your clan.
All ClanBase Cup Supervisors have been informed that they should act strictly by the rules so no clans, whatever their status or history, should expect any sort of leniency or special treatment. The application of the Cup rules will be the same no matter how big or small the clan is.
We see a lot of talk from clans regarding their aim to be professional, however their behaviour often falls woefully short of this, and in the end it's these same clans who suffer when they find no one willing to sponsor themselves or the tournaments they play in. It's time for online gaming to grow up and that is down to you, the players and clans.

As a broadcaster of these games for the last 5 years, I can honestly say it has been one of the most frustrating cups to provide consistent coverage for, yet for all its faults, also a wonderful cup. I am glad that CB recognise the importance of coverage of their cups and matches and that they will now take seriously the rules and regulations that have been in place for some time but not always followed.
On a slightly different note, I would also hope that the admins and referee's act responsibly and professionally too, otherwise this could cause more problems than it solves. It is not just down to players and clans being a little more courteous and professional, but the admins too, if this is going to work. Too many times in the past, CB Admins have been accused (some without proof and some with) of bias decisions involving their own clan or that of friends and the integrity of the decisions under these stricter rules must be without question.
