Ok, this mouse has A LOT of potential
+ The cord is nice and soft, it gives almost no resistance and I really don't need a bungee or whatever form of cord holder for it.
+ The feet are really slick, on cloth or hard surface (icemat)
+ Although not too important to me, it has a nice, solid, well constructed feel to it.
+ I think the most promising feature on this mouse is how responsive it is
+ The 1800dpi (despite what others think) is def a plus - tracking is more detailed and i can pick shots from afar a bit easier. I noticed this especially on q3 space maps and big ctf maps.
+ This part is hard to explain but I get this weird sort of mouse lag now and then.
It feels like the tracking is sluggish, slow to respond, squishy, just really irritating movement.
It's an intermittent issue - it'll go away when i reconnect the mouse on another port or something, then if I happen to disconnect and plug it in again, it comes back.
Nevertheless, I don't get it on the DA even close to as bad as I do on my mx510 or exp 3.0.
Now the bad part:
- I just updated the firmware and did the reconnect mouse thing, even though the firmware says that issue has been addressed, however, I’m still getting that lift off issue. It's not too noticeable, but it's there.
- The second most annoying thing is that positive accel that no one seems to talk about again.
I use mid sens (default windows sens and 5 sens in q3) and flicking as no where as accurate as it is on either mx510 or exp 3.0. I have to flick slower and more carefully.
Yeah, so I paid $58 for this mouse (total) ,and despite its pros, I really can't justify using it for that price after all the negatives. They are really quite bothersome.
Tigerdirect won't even take it back; and I know razer will, at best, replace it if it's faulty. I'm prolly just going to sell it on campus or something.
I may get the krait (high dpi), which I've heard no bad things about, or the mx500 and clock to 1000 Hz.
