MiEL-Gaming comes Clean. (163 comments)

( Major Article: Q3)

Posted by eyph3n' @ 02:58 UTC, 11 January 2007 - iMsg

I had always wondered who this clan was that were playing under weird nicknames and holding their own against the best teams in Europe for TDM. Admittedly after some of the many great TDM teams had stopped playing. None the less they have proved themselves to be a team not only to be underestimated but also a team to be reckoned with. With wins against teams like the powerhouse Northstars.

As I managed to make contact with

Unity he explained a lot of things not to mention why they created the team and once and for all who SLX is.

Sorry if the interview is hard to read. I formatted it first in Wordpad and then had to format it again when i copy and pasted into ESR :(

I think im uploading the same picture twice aswell. :/

That would be nicer to read this interview if you use multipage. One big amount of text isn't sexy.
Also I guess the category of the news should be Q3?

Well that was a bit different. As I said before, it is always a mess to gather all of our members on D-day. Once again, we missed a member, and we had to play with Krysa. We weren't careful enough, actually we didn't expect Clanbase Admins to check IPs on the server.

LOL

if by "cheated" you mean was a member of two clans at the same time, yes, he was "cheating". Because he was banned for moonlighting. Not for hacks.
I'd hardly call that "cheating" in the typical sense, however.

I guess he must have had great fun by trying to convince me that IP from krysa was wrong.

I actually had some trust in clans and players and thought that scene was mature enough not to do stuff like that.

We (JaC) nearly beat them last semi-final OC TDM war with lowl1fe playing for us, who hasn't pld Quake for over a year.

-> Pls don't change your comments all the time...

Bah don't tell me that now, as I would have wished to play the final vs N. And I guess with our best lineup we would have done quite well vs them ;)
Damn fakenicking all the time...

I recently had a discussion with some JaC members about that and I'm very proud that JaC did not even once use a fakenicker in the 119 offical CB wars yet. (http://www.clanbase.com/claninfo.php?cid=102014&judge=1)

And tbh, I think not many clans have achieved that. It became too common to fakenick today :(

Yes you should have goten a red card vs us and then we would have pld the final vs N ;)

And it's useless to predict the outcome of the game when both would have had top lineup.
Check the war stats: http://www.clanbase.com/news_league.php?wid=5691449&lid=2515

lowl1fe was (or is again) a very good quake player, but he pld that war after he quit quake for more than a year and nobody can play good after such a long break.

Even he and Slx is half as good as Spartie or Zik, so that could be a reason too. I hope Spartie will find a sponsor, he deserves it.

Me and ddk used to 2v2 with top/boules slx/unity quite often, even though we were never sure of their identity they were quite often fun to play with and seemed to have good attitudes. But I have to admit I'm firmly against alias clans playing in leagues and I can't believe clanbase allowed it.

You guys could have just used your real nicknames and still been just as good, the only difference being you would have won the opencup rather than losing by default, but that's the cost of aliasing.

the reason they got kicked out was because they played with krysa who is banned at cb, not because they faked.

miel are the strongest clan today, no doubt about this. Unity has an insane skill, stop whine pls.

the question is:

Thanks.
Pot2 is just one of the many aliases slx used.I had said it to eyphen before answering the questions, and I thought he would mention it in the editing. Sorry about that. As a summary, slx played as Top most of the time, but also Immortal & Pot2.

What's the point about cool dudes playing under funny names ?
I mean, once you know it's a very good team (so you are advised that they aint noobs during a league match) with players not laming or playing for other clans, i really can't see where the problem is.

Well, this thread looks pathetic :-)
Miel is a good team, made of good players aliasing. That's not the problem. The problem is that the team was all "slx" who is Link1n, one of the best euro TDM and one on one player (even if he was not as known as he deserved, and he couldn't play when he could have become famous).

Anyway, Unity answering every single provocation on this silly thread is just so funny :-)
DiCkSiZe-contest spotted. Ridiculous.
