Hey cnz, please introduce who you are in real life shortly.
My name is Kirill, I'm 22 years old and I study energetics in a technical university.

What games did you play previous to Quake and how did you get into Quake Live?
When I was 10 years old my parents bought me a PC and the first online game I played was Counter Strike - at that point 1.3. I played that a few years until 1.6 came out. Later I picked up DOTA until finally one and a half years ago I found out about Quake Live and started training actively.

Right now we rarely see you on online tournaments such as ZOTACs, not to mention lans. Is that going to change in the future?
It just so happens that lately I don't have time to play on Sundays. I think that soon I will have more time to practise and of course participation in tournaments is not impossible!

How would you describe your playstyle?
Hmmm... I think I have a combined gamestyle. I can both play agressive and defensive and I manage to pick the right situations for playing agressive and +backing.

How do you like the currect gameplay of Quake Live? Is there anything you would change?
I really like the physics and dynamics of the game, can't say anything negative about that. The only thing that annoys me is the spawn system. Because of that you oftentimes have to for example leave your opponent alive so that he doesn't respawn at the spawning red armor.

You have managed to improve a lot in a short period of time. What advice would you give to players aspiring to do the same?
I would advice to play with better opponents and first of all learn to move around the maps quickly, the rest will come by itself. Well and obviously watch a lot of demos, both your own and those of pro players and analyze them!

What do you think about the future of Quake? Will you keep playing the game even if big tournaments will cease to exist or do you play mainly for the competition?
I think Quake will continue to exist and tournaments aswell even if less. As for me I will keep playing Quake and participate in tournaments because I like the game very much.

Looking at the upcoming Dreamhack tournament who do you think will win and who will be able to surprise?
Of course it's really sad that baksteen will not participate, I think that player could really surprise. Same goes for evil who I think could very well take Top3. Concerning the final I think it will be Cypher vs Rapha.

Thank you for your time! Do you have any final words?
I want to wish you good luck at Dreamhack and thank you for the interview!
