Network troubles were especially tricky this year. By the end of Day 0 at QuakeCon, we still didn't have a connection. We wouldn't be able to push out our content, which at this point, consisted of a few player and attendee interviews. The new plan looked like this: By agreement with id Software, Quake Live tournaments were required to be broadcast by a streaming service that was providing the stream CDN and custom embedded player for QuakeLive.com. All other content, like the BYOC tournies, interviews and such would be broadcast on the QLTV stream. Fishstix was updating twitter from his iPhone. We weren't too worried about the net troubles on Day 0. After all, this was QuakeCon. This was normal. We even expected there to be problems the following day as that is the nature of an event where you try to cram a 3,000 person LAN, a convention hall's worth of vendors and a tournament into one hotel.
