Posted by s4ti @ 10:12 CDT, 13 May 2009 - iMsg
Due to the large demand from the community, the ESL ESL decided to start a team-based QuakeLive cup even with the well known server-situation. 24 teams will have the chance to participate in the ClanArena Cup.

The cup-layout will consist of a group stage with 4 groups of 6 clans each, followed up by a double elimination playoff. The sign-up will only last 5 days which is pretty short, clans interested should sign up quickly.

Hio,

i guess almost everyone knows about r_subdivions. Set it to a very high value and you can see through some curves and almost allover the map. Back in 2001, 21 Oct 01 to be more correct the osp version 0.99w came out. One of the fixtures back then was - "Fix: r_subdivisions exploit (> 120 bug)". Now also some pb cfgs have a range of 0 to 80 set between r_subdivions has to be set at the client. Most of the people use a value within that range. 80 is said to be "the thruth", comment on esr. Back in the old days using r_subdivions with a high value, to see through some walls, was using an exploit, that should have been fixed. With set to 80 you can't see through any walls or curves. But with a lower value you can! screen that screen was taken on a normal server, r_subdivisions is set below 80, even below 30. It still works?! Not only there, from RL at dm6 you can see the alleyway from SG and PG to the centre.
Am i just a bit outdated and that is long known or is it common knowledge and its not fixed because everyone is free to use it, its a "feature"? I must say i had some situations while playing, where it was good to "see" the enemy from the corner of the eye sneaking through those doors.
r_subdivisions as an exploit and wh-like with values like 999 were known to me, but with low values too?
