Emulated Quake 3 Start a Match Settings (No comments)

For the sake of nostalgia I made a "Start a Match" feature set with Quake 3 weapon and movement defaults. The shotgun value is slightly incorrect. It's not possible to change the number of shotgun pellets or alter the pattern, so I just made total damage the same. Battlesuit was left unaltered as I don't know the Q3 settings. If someone provides these, or other corrections, I'll edit.

Just paste into the "Import Settings" option of the "Start a Match" tab.

ESWC 2010 Sens, Accel and DPI Thread (324 comments)

It's basically impossible to figure out what the settings someone uses correspond to in terms of 360/cm and 360/cm^2 (i.e. the physical sens and accel) without also knowing the dpi they use, provided they also have in_mouse 2.

With ESWC currently going on, and every config uploaded to http://gouzouboudou.free.fr/ESWC%202010/configs/ , now is a good chance...

So, what mouse is each player using, and what dpi do they use the mouse at? Do some of the wmo's really have 450 dpi? If so, which players are on 450 dpi or 400 dpi? I've owned two wmos, both are 400dpi.

Using some of the data Greenmeanie posted, along with the average of the absolute values of m_pitch and m_yaw. (Garpy and sl1p are left out because we don't know the dpi they're using.) I've assumed Strenx's settings just correspond to sens 1 at 800dpi. A few players (fazz and bozdo, who's just using fox's config with senscap 5) have different settings for every weapon. I've just taken the average sens and accel.

To make things simpler I'm normalizing every sens and accel to it's equivalent value with default pitch and yaw at 400dpi. Accel in either deg/cm^2 or deg/cm*s may be added in later (or feel free to compute it). Sens should really be in deg/cm as distance in cm is the variable, but everyone likes cm/360 more, so here it is:

Normalized Sens, Normalized cl_mouseaccel, base cm/360, accel

Cooller - 2.255 sens, .182 accel, 46.09 cm/360
Cypher - 3.784 sens, .106 accel, 27.46 cm/360
DaHang - 4.6 sens, .048 accel, 22.59 cm/360
Av3k - 2.327 sens, .291 accel, 44.64 cm/360
Bodzo - 3.745 sens, .082 accel, 27.75 cm/360
Fazz - 4.256 sens, .244 accel, 24.41 cm/360
K1llsen - 3.45 sens, .12 accel, 30.12 cm/360
L1nkje - 3.338 sens, .074 accel, 31.13 cm/360
Noctis - 2.775 sens, .209 accel, 37.44 cm/360
Rapha - 5 sens, .48 accel, 20.78 cm/360
Stermy - 4.65 sens, 0 accel, 22.35 cm/360
Strenx - 2 sens, 0 accel, 51.95 cm/360

The averages, RMS, and standard deviations for all 12 players are:

Normalized Sens, Normalized Accel
Average 3.515 , .153
RMS 3.646 , .202
Stdev 1.010 , .138


For the top 8 finishers (Rapha, Av3k, Cooller, Dahang, Cypher, Noctis, Stermy, Strenx):

RMS 3.611 , .225
Stdev 1.226 , .164


And for the top 4 finishers (Rapha, Av3k, Cooller, Dahang):

To convert sens at 400dpi to another dpi or yaw, use:
new_sens = old_sens * (new_yaw / .022) * (new_dpi / 400)

For accel:
new_accel = old_accel * (new_yaw / .022) * (new_dpi / 400)^2
